The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Deck Description

Working on a deck to beat a friends first turn eldrazi.
He uses Elvish Spirit Guide + Lotus Petal or Forest for Channel, then drops a 10/10 or bigger first turn.
Problem is, annihilator = no permanents forever.

So here was my response also our group allows no land mulligans, Rofl.

im loving this deck! maybe -2 brainfreeze and +2 goblin charbelcher. paradise mantle could be a help as well. i wasted the money on a playset of chrome moxes and would probly throw them in as well since if i remember right lotus peta is resticted but if ur playing casual have a blast. again i love the deck, comment on mine if you would.

So... With no land mulligans and on the draw.... You basically have no choice but to win right? Because I mean, basically you just pick your hand. Seems intense but almost a bit boring. Haha. Good deck though, just doesn't have any interaction...

Like I put up top, the fact is that I made it to counter another basically first turn deck, elvish spirit guide, channel, emrakul, takes a turn, down to 5 second turn, over... if I go first, I am sac'in permanents. So the idea was regardless of turn, I can do it. Even if I go second. My first turn ends in me winning. Even though I can basically pick my hand, I can still lose if cards block up and I can't draw to 20 creatures, it will be easier now though because I am adding the new Memnites.

Good job, putting Street Wraith in here is brilliant. Three of your grapeshots have to get cut.
PS: It's alright if your friend run four vintage restricted channels to summon bad cards (exclude Aeon of course), just exile them with path to exile, oust, swords, condem...

Very fun and innovative deck.

You can brag that you can kill turn 1 using a deck with no lands and no moxes (lotus petal technically is not a mox though it sure looks and acts like one ;-)

I made a sort of similiar deck but in blue and black that uses riddlesmith and Artificer's Intuition to draw zero cost artifacts and artifact lands to draw win condition. I was wondering if there was a way to use all those zero cost creatures to create direct damage and know I know the answer is yes GRAPESHOT!)

I have a very similar blue/black deck with 0 casting cost artifacts (Memnite, Ornithoptor, Zuran Orb, Bauble, Walkers, Shield Shpere) With Culling the Weak + Dark Rits and Ad nauseam. Also runs retract for 1 blue, pulling all my artifacts back to be recasted :D. Win condition is Tendrils of Agony

very nice. street wraith is amazing in here, it really keeps it going. first trial hand i pulled was a 19damage grapeshot (no mulligan) first turn. very creative & it seems like you know the cards really well....which obviously brings me to ask you for advice on my decks lol.

Oh my god, it's.. it's... beautiful.

Best deck I've seen this year. A perfect "oh god why didn't I think of that" for those who like to play Johnny Elves. Paging the Legacy deck desk, anyone?

I'm going to go build a Legacy version of this *now*. Thanks for the inspire.

Consider 4x Serum Powder, gives you chance for additional free mulligans and is almost a MUST for a deck like this, that requires one specific card in the opening hand (Glimpse of Nature) to be able to win...

Insane! I love it. I would use -2 grapeshot and +2 Serum Powder

Awesome! I love this deck.

BTW - He doesn't need serum powder - he stated in the comments the deck was built for casual play in a group that allows free no-land mulligans. If not for that though, definitely recommended.

Another counter to a first turn Channel -> Emrakul is to opt to go second (or take first turn but not play anything). You just need to inflict 5 points of damage on your first turn ;)

5/5 for creativity!

You really have to do it all in one go. If you stall out at 10 or 12 dmg, sure that'll stop the 1 drop eldrazi, but it's going to take you another perfect 3-turn-draw to get back in the groove. Unfortunately, it's pretty difficult to keep it going for 20 dmg. (The most I got in many sample hands was 12.) And then you're just going to sit there for a lot of turns hoping your opponent has nothing else to offer while you draw up your combo again. Since you can mulligan, and you really only need 3 mana for the combo, take out the 8 3cmc creatures that discard for mana and rely on a petal and glimpse of nature to get it going. Then, just cycle through for two more petals and your grapeshot for the win! Heck, if your plan is to abuse the house mulligan rule, then abuse it.

0
Posted 10 February 2011 at 13:05

hmmm . . . I see the problem now. There's no more 0 mc creatures to substitute in or else you would have done so already :) Maybe what you do is put in 1mc creatures that you can sac to get back the mana. You're net zero mana but you get to keep drawing. Some creatures, like Tinder Wall, will even net you some mana (and of the correct type for Grapeshot!). Net zero options might be Wild Cantor or Skirk Prospector.

this deck realy should be great to play with !
The bad thing is that u depends too much on glimpse of nature... 4/60 + 3/59 + 2/58 + 1/57 ... dificult to get...
Even getting glimpse u need a spirit guide or a petal of lotus ...
You got better chance do it with the wraith but i think u should get more of this kind of cards... don't even know what ones u could use...

His play group lets him freely mulligan as long as your hand has zero land cards. This deck has no land. Hence, he can mulligan as many times as necessary to start with the perfect combo. I suspect they may modify this rule after facing this deck :p Nice job!

Well I changed my mind, its going to stay the same and I will tell you why. Baubles do not help in this deck. Baubles let me draw my following turn, at that point, its too late. The Serum Powder is going to get rid of cards which is good and bad, sure I can get rid of the extra spirit guides, but it could also get rid of my key cards. The Pact of Negations... well assuming I go first, I should win, if I go second Ill have to use it on lets say channel, then my turn I have no win condition I just lost. So that's out. The 0 CMC artifacts wouldn't work right either because it would work with the Glimpse of Nature. Any other ideas?

0
Posted 10 February 2011 at 23:14

Well maybe not the baubles are 0 cost so they do count as a spell, I guess I will still consider it.

Depends on your style of play, if I remember correctly don't your spells still hit the stack example: If I have angels feather out and I cast a white spell and it is countered, I believe I still gain the life. So maybe the same in this case. Can't quote me on it just an idea. Unfortunately this doesn't work on Dennis he only plays two spells. :)
