Delay is the name of the game, and sometimes your best angels and demons won't come in for the fight. Your Walls and little creatures are going to be your first line of Defense until you can draw enough land or if you got enough, draw a game turning creature. Field of Souls will help you keep your defense up longer, and Basilisk Collar will turn a little 1/1 blocker into something to be wonder about. Don't forget, you've got plenty of creature removers for spells as well.
