Fast Infect

Main Deck (60 cards)

Enchantments (4)

Land (20)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Still a work in progress. Why are all the good cards not legal in modern?? (@ Preordain, brainstorm and ponder.) Fellsbadman.

Serum visions it is. Although I'm not sure that card is good enough in this deck. The card slection is needed but the turn one mana is better used elsewhere.

Also is mending touch even good? I feel like if your creature doesn't stick you lose but idk. probably terrible. However, whole deck is like under $25 (except serums visions which are $3-4 each because they're a modern staple. So if you're super poor like me sub them out).

How to Play

Definitely: Mull until glistener elf. Play then buff EZ.
Maybe: Win a few games with the cheese strat.

Also ghostly touch and downpour seem random but are there to deny turn two or three blockers. Unless there super fast tapping 1 or 2 things is probably enough to win. Basically if they get more than 2 or 3 turns to react probably don't win.

Deck discussion for Fast Infect

Mizzium Skin, [[Ranger's Guile]], Blossoming Defense or Vines of Vastwood would be better than Mending Touch if you want something to prevent your creature from getting hit by removal-spells.
Mutagenic Growth is a free +2/+2 strengthening spell while Evolution Charm is a very versatile spell as it allows you to ramp, return a dead creature or make one of your creatures nearly unblockable (flying).
Personally I would reduce the number of Downpour by 1-2, or sideboard those against swarm decks, because most opponents won't have that many creatures out early on.

Muktol

I think downpour will consistently be useful. Even if i'm only tapping 1 I only need to hit 3 times to win.

Mutagenic growth is actually such a good suggestion though because it saves a mana. Thanks for the suggestion.

Try Invigorate as well:

"If you control a Forest, rather than pay invigorate's mana cost, you may have opponent gain 3 life.

Target creature gets +4/+4 until end of turn"

I have this in my infect deck. Who cares about the life gain!!

Card's WAY too old for Modern. That said, it would be bloody fantastic if it was.

It is good and I like it but how does it cost $45
I want to build it and use it in a FNM

Made something similar yesterday! Red/Black, though. Still tweaking. Thinking of adding some regeneration enchantments so that I can keep infecting creatures that block while keeping my own alive. Have panic cards & firebreathing cards already though, so hard to manage so many mechanisms.

Take a look:

Not a fan of Ghostly Touch or Downpour in this deck because they are simply too slow. If it fits within the budget of the deck, then Simic Charm is a really good card for U/G infect.

yeah took them out because playing them on curve is probably not fast enough/ a lost cause.

Slip through space and/or distortion strike are better than downpour and ghostly touch. Blossoming defense is also really good.

Thanks for the suggestions. Took out downpour. for distortion strike because the rebound is sooo good.

You need more protection for your creatures, Blossoming Defense and Vines of Vastwood are both excellent. In terms of lands, Pendelhaven , Inkmoth Nexus and Botanical Sanctum are all great choices to add. I would run 4 x Mutagenic Growth and switch out Giant Growth for Blossoming Defense, and then swap some Downpours for Vines.
