Deck Description

This deck abuses Phyrexian Unlife. If played correctly, you will become near-unbeatable.

Darksteel Colossus is in the sideboard as a budget option for Blightsteel Colossus. However, I would recommend using the Darksteel Colossus only if you cannot afford the Blightsteel Colossus because the infect may seal a few games in your favor.

How to Play

One way or another, the following cards must hit the battlefield in order to become near-invincible;
-Phyrexian Unlife: it doesn't matter when you play this; as long as it is on the field the combo will work.
-Melira, Sylvok Outcast: needed in order to bypass the poison counter effect of Phyrexian Unlife.
-Avacyn, Angel of Hope: try to get this out after Archetype of Endurance but before Starfield of Nyx (so all your creatures are hexproof and indestructible). This is because if Avacyn hits the field after Starfield of Nyx, someone can easily destroy the enchantment, lowering your chances of combo-ing off.
-Archetype of Endurance: put this out before Avacyn hits the field.
-Starfield of Nyx: put this out dead last, or it can be easily destroyed and lower your chances of becoming nearly unstoppable. This will turn all enchantments, most notably Phyrexian Unlife, into creatures, and thus become affected by Archetype of Endurance.

If any of the cards mentioned above do not hit the field, you have a dramatically smaller chance of surviving and have a decent chance of bricking.

Any other cards are to help increase your chances of combo-ing off or help protect you during the early game.

Deck discussion for Phyrexian Unlife Insanity

Ok so really interesting combo, love the cancer. I gotta say though, once you make yourself indestructible, there's not a clear win condition. Avacyn is pretty good, but all it takes is a few fog banks on your opponent's side and the game could go on forever.

Unfortunately, yes; the lack of real win conditions sets the deck up for possible long stalemates. However, Blightsteel Colossus has trample and infect, meaning that while it can be blocked by a fog bank, it does not cover all of the damage. Even with four fog banks blocking only covers 8 damage from a colossus, meaning that if more than one is out, your opponent is in some deep trouble.
