Deck Description

This deck is not cheap, and it’s not designed to be. It isn’t supposed to fit into ay format, and is really just for exposing your friends and family who play magic by just being mean. Price of Progress is in the sideboard because not all people play a bunch of non-basic lands, but if you know someone is using a deck that does, you can switch out one of the cards for it. If you have any suggestions, I will most certainly take them into consideration for improving this deck. Your input is what helps shape lots of my decks, and helps them become the best that they can.

How to Play

Burn, burn, burn! Then once you do, burn some more with Monastery Swiftspear after dealing 4 damage on turn 1 with Vexing Devil or have a 2/2 hitter with haste on turn 1. Your opponent will run out of life before they even know what hit them.

Deck discussion for The Greatest Burn Deck EVER

I know its a bit more expensive mana wise but i think risk factor would be an amazing card in here either they let you draw three cards or take 4 damage and you can discard a card to recast it.

What should I replace with it?

Two rift bolts, they are kinda slow either 3 mana or a delayed hit, 1 grim lavamancer, same concept its a little slow and mana expensive, and 1 mountain you really dont need 20 lands for a deck that only costs 1 or 2 mana well 3 with this new card. Otherwise i really like the deck its fast and it can handle most deck types.

I don't see risk factor staying legal very long, at least not in modern. Standard might be ok, but a 3 drop that fixes the topdeck land problem more than likely wont be seeing the light of day in modern with burn being a viable deck

That's a fair statement but he stated that this is just for playing with friends.

No disrespect to the deck, just commenting on how silly good the card is.

Brow Beat has existed for years. Jump-Start won't change the trap that is brow beat.

Brow beat is a sorcery that only pops off once. Risk factor is an instant that you can recast by ditching the topdecked lands you don't need, which helps fix the central problem in magic, which is: you need lands to hit hard and fast, but once you hit your operating curve every land you draw is dead. Players have been addressing this problem by running fetch lands, man lands, and tactical lands, and by changing mana curves, but risk factor lets you turn the lands you don't need into material.

Browbeat gives opponent the chance to screw you over by either overloading or denying tempo, which is why it doesn't see play much. But Risk Factor is an instant that you can and more than likely will recast when it suits you, stopping opponent from stealing or flooding the tempo.

Risk factor is kinda bad though. Jump Star helps a little. Because in theory you will have extra lands late. But 2 payments of 3 mana plus a card for 8 damage. Yikes. That is actually fairly poor rates. Could see play in standard. But in modern and legacy it's just so expensive for too little an effect. And even has the additional drawback of being potentially dead in tight races. (By drawing 3 cards when you dead next turn). And we know just how tight modern is these days.

Seriously don't play risk factor. Unless your playing very, very aggressive aggro in standard or doing casual shenanigans.

the "The Greatest Burn Deck EVER" without fireblast? I would cut flame slash, cant hit players.
monastery swiftspear is faster than grim lavamancer
valakut enters tapped and if you get to 6+ lands you're doing something wrong, instead ramunap ruins or mountains
just my suggestions

Risk factor is just a better browbeat. Blazing salvo, molten influence, skullscorch, bookburning are some other fun ones.
Fireblast and valakut prob don't belong in the same deck but looks like a ton of fun.

Risk Factor and Brow Beat are the same card. Jump-Start isn't going to change the trap that is Brow Beat.

Very Nice Deck. I'd hate to play against this deck.

Why no lightning bolts over rift bolts? They are instant speed and work on the same turn. Also, should update "how to play" and deck description.

I have a playset of lightning bolt, I can't run any more. And I like my description.
