Damage - what else?

I like the idea of this deck, it looks like a fun concept. My only concern is what is going on while you wait for your enchantments to come out. Every damage spell you have is directed at creatures only (save for 2 that do damage to all players), relying on Repercussion to do damage to your opponent. Meanwhile, your opponent has plenty of time to do whatever they can. Obviously, low power creatures will probably get removed by your burn, but.. I don't know.. it just seems like it has some early game weakness to it if you don't pull Repercussion or Smoke in your opening hand, or in the first couple turns. With that said, if you're playing against green or blue and they counter/destroy your enchantments you're pretty much done.

Yes, I see the problem with the enchantments, but I couldn't find a good solution. That's why I put the deck up here, to see, if anyone can help me with that. I thought about including Gamble to acquire Repercussion, but it seems a bit risky. Also, I'm yet to test the deck in a real match, so I can't say how well it works. However, as you said, it definitely has some flaws, which I'm still trying to eradicate.
I would say slip some Lightning Bolt and Arc Trails in there, as a backup at the very least. They both let you target creatures OR players - and really, you don't need THAT many spells that target all creatures. Only other thing I could say is maybe add some Needle Drop for some card draw, but that's up to you.
Included them. Thank you for your help. =)
Hi there and welcome to the site. I'll try to give you some ideas on how to fix this deck up to be more competitive. As others have said you have too many creature targeting spells. Your current win condition relies on 1 enchantment and on your opponent playing lots of creatures. Against weenie decks it will likely do fine but against other types of decks you will be left without a way to win. Red burn decks need to win by dealing damage to your opponent as fast as possible because they lack powerful permanents. Your primary win condition needs to be to burn your opponent and the creature and enchantments need to be your back ups to help you obtain that task and to protect yourself from creature damage. The easiest way to fix this deck would be to add much more burn cards that can target the player or creatures. The great thing about that strategy is that if you have Repercussion you can still target creatures and damage your opponent. Lightning bolt is a must have for any burn deck, no exceptions. Its the best burn spell ever printed. Other great burn cards to look at are Magma Jet, Needle Drop, Chain Lightning, Rift Bolt and Lava Spike. Also Fireblast is the best finisher card ever. After a big play when you tapped out just sac 2 lands and deal and extra 4 damage for the win. Desert Sandstorm is a bad card and you are much better off running Flamebreak and Volcanic Fallout or even consider Earthquake or Breaking point. Steam Blast is decent but you may still consider one of the cards I listed above instead of if. Smoke and Uphill battle is a nice lock down that I have ran before, however I have found Meekstone works better than Smoke most of the time because it locks down all big creatures that are out of burn range and the smaller creatures will be burnt up with your creature burn spells. I have a few other ideas to help fix up this deck. Maybe Mimic Vat could be nice because you can steal your opponents best creature that you just burnt. Also you could try putting in a few creatures that come out quick but don't stick around. That way you can play your board wiping burn spells after your combat during your second mainphase. Look at creatures like Ball Lightning, Hellspark Elemental or maybe even Keldon Marauders or Spark Elemental. Anyway hope that helps you an d good luck with the deck. I posted 2 deck links below for you to look at if you need some more ideals. Hi, first of all: Wow! You really took some time writing all of this, didn't you? I really like some of your ideas, especially Meekstone is a very nice card that I included at once. I also like Fireblast. It's a spell I've overlooked so far as the land sacrifice deterred me, but as you said, it's a very good finisher. However, while the concept of the temporary creatures is definitely worth a thought, I did not include any of them. Not because I think it wouldn't work. I'm sure it would do the trick as well, yet for once I wanted to create a creatureless deck, just to try something different. Nonetheless thank you very much for your great advice. It's really awesome to see how much time people like you sacrifice to help "site-newbies" like me. =)
No problem. I have been looking at so many burn decks lately that I know most of the best cards off the top of my head. This build is looking much nicer. Only other suggestions are that Forked Bolt is better than shock. I would also drop arc trail down to 2 and up your meekstones to 3. Arc trail can be really great but if you have burnt up all your opponents creatures the turn before and then play an arc trail you will actually have to deal 1 damage to yourself in order to cast it. Also Meekstone is one of your main defenses against large creatures so you need at least 3 if not 4 to make sure you have a chance to play it. If you run 4 meekstones you may be able to cut your mana down to 19 and be just fine because you have a really low mana curve. You may also find that since there will not likely be many creatures on the battlefield that flamebreak or Breaking Point will probably be a better card than Chain Reaction. Breaking point has the added benefit of destroying very large creatures or forcing the opponent to take 6 damage but if you have Repercussion will make flamebreak deal massive damage. With those changes I think this deck will be a very fierce deck that will be hard to deal with for most creature based decks.
Once again, thank you very much. I'm eager to finally see the finished deck in action. Unfortunately I'll have to wait for the mail first. =/
