How to Play

The goal of this deck is to ramp into playing "Bolas's Citadel" then crush your opponent by "going nuts!".

Once the Citadel is out, play as many cards from the top of your deck onto the battlefield. This will cost you life, but this life can be easily earnt back from your InnKeeper and Blood Artists/Bastions of Remembrance. Cards are cheap to play as they generally cost 1 or 2 mana (aka life) to put out.

Then using the Citadel, sacrifice 10 permanents reducing your opponents life total by 10, often killing your opponent in the process as Blood Artists and Bastions of Remembrance leach your opponents health each time a creature dies.

Ramp into an early Bolas's Citadel by playing the following cards:
o Llanowar Elves
o Prosperous InnKeeper (creates a treasure when he enters)
o Killing a Shambling Ghast (creates a treasure when he dies)
o Guilded Goose (sacrifice a food token to create mana)

Removal:
o Mortality Spear (with a reduced cost if you gain life)
o Abrupt Decay
o Yawgmoth, Than Physician (add -1/-1 counters to opponents creatures)

Life Gain:
o Prosperous InnKeeper (gains 1 life whenever a creature enters the battlefield, often negating the cost of spending life to play cards from the top of your deck with the Citadel
o Blood Artist (when something dies)
o Bastion of Remembrance

Shuffling / Drawing / Scrying extra cards:
o Woe Strider
o Yawgmoth, Than Physician (This MVP card is nuts easily the best card!!)
o Fabled Passage

Use the above cards to get past "blockers" e.g. Legendary or other Lands on the top of your deck.

Deck discussion for Bolas' Citadel of Doom

Hello there, I've added you to my archive of users who are either new, or have been dormant for a while.

I use that archive to keep track of potential offenders, and have collected data for at least three months, so it's not based on you, as I'm basically tracking everyone.

I have also collected a list of the best users in mtgvault, who makes a real effort to use tags, deckdescriptions and in some cases does something for our community.

I'll contact you if I want you on the list, but I'd say that if you can get yourself to put descriptions on most of your post 2013 material, then you will make it to the list, as you were good in the past.

Hey buddy!

Cheers for the infos and for the warm welcome back.

You're right - I haven't been on here for a while, but I plan to add a bunch of new decks that I've created over the last 18 months, as well as go back and fill in the missing descriptions, tags and how to play.

Watch this space ;)

Sounds great :)

And to quote uato:
"Men call me the watcher"
As he said when he contacted deadpool from the side of a toilet stall, proving that sometimes watching can feel a bit misplaced...

I don't have quite the same vigilance, but I'll keep my eyes peeled.
