You could also throw in an ultimite life combo by using a Kitchen Finks alongside Maw and Melira.

Ahhh, never seen that Runechanter's pike. That is pretty nasty :P I think there is enough counter spells, so I may whack down the price of this deck even more by switching out the Remands
