Deck Description

Pretty straight forward. Mill your friends like no tomorrow.

How to Play

Honestly, it's really simple, just mill. You might want to wait a few turn until you can get Fraying Sanity played on your opponent, but after that, just go ham. combo Fraying Sanity with Traumatize, and it's pretty much game over for them. Have fun!

Deck discussion for A Mill-ion Questions

I've tested a lot with modern.
visions of beyond usually draws you 1 Card, either because you dig after some other stuff early or because you die before drawing one lategame. In games against chalice you usually only get to cast 1 1cc spell, So overall visions only Draw you a Card.

Compelling argument draws you a Card in exactly the same way, but can be used as a kill-card when the opponent is low enough on library.

That's true, and honestly I might consider switching out the Thought Scours for that, but I really like the card draw opportunity Visions gives you, especially in the later game. By then you'll have probably used up a majority of your spells, and it's awesome to have a one drop draw three to keep that hand nice and full

If you play often against friends you can use paperstrips to keep track of how often visions Draw you those 3 Cards.
Put a paperstrip into each cardsleeve with a vision, and whenever you use a vision simply note if it nets you 1 or 3 Cards. You will be surprised at how rarely a draw of 3 happens...

I'll have to try that! Thanks for the tip!

It's a method you can use to test any Card you can imagine in a lot of diferent ways.

Here's a link to other uses:

A few pro's been adapting the method to test out some game theories.

I like the Grimoire Thief! I think that's an awesome ability. I'll have to keep researching to see what I want to switch out! Thanks for all the input everybody! And that's crazy! Great minds think alike I guess!

Paranoid Delusion - Cipher, dose that mean the card is constantly with that creature or only for one more cast?

Constantly; if it dies, it goes out of play, but as long as that creature attacks, the ability will activate as well.

That is great thanks! have you ever considered, Whispering Madness?

That card could work well for card draw, the only real problem is that there really isn't my creatures in this deck, and the real bonus to that card is that it has cipher

put on any creature regardless you still have a cipher for a high land play to then be cast on an attack good deal!

That's true! I'll definitely have to sideboard that!

Is it just me that's noticed that you have 6 Fraying Sanity?

This might just be me, however I would replace Thought Scour with Tome Scour

I see that your running mind sculpt, but you might as well use breaking // entering. Even if you never use entering, breaking is still better than mind sculpt.

That's very true! I'll have to switch those out

1

It actually depends on how well your mana behaves.
If you can solidly deliver 2 islands and 2 swamps within 4 turns, then breaking Works Wonders together with glimpse,
but if your mana is "off" into more of a splash than even mana, then you are better of with mind sculpt. This is especially important if you face bloodmoon...

That's also true. I'll have to test is and see how consistently I can use it. Thanks Wicked for all the help!

Again, you can use paperstrips to find the perfect mix. :D

I use so many paperstrips at all the time that my milldeck builds itself through evolution and lots of testing:

Heh, I remember these pieces of advice :)
Tyliwrath is still around if you haven't reconnected with him already.

Since 2017 mill has gained ruin crab which could replace hedron crab.
Maddening cacophony could replace traumatize.

And since visions of the beyond has gotten even worse due to the mechanic escape, it could be replaced by vantress gargoyle.

I wrote up a post about mill just yesterday.

Search for the decktag: wdm mill
Click on the mill deck, which also has an article about why I still play test against decks from 2018.

I'm still developing my paperstrip projects.
