Deck Description

This is a deck the my friend Rob designed and I helped tweak and playtest. As far as I am aware, no one else has done this. It is a finished product as of August 2012. Now I'll explain how to do it.

Swamp > Dark Ritual > Entomb > Shallow Grave (Goryo's Vengeance) > Griselbrand > Attack >Draw 21 cards >Lotus Petal > Spam Spells > Tendrils of Agony

Alternatively you can Cabal Therapy instead of Entomb if he is in hand or Soul Spike for the win.

Also Swamp > 3x Lotus Petal into combo > Hope for 4th Lotus Petal for part 2 of combo

What we haven't done is made an effective sideboard so we would like some input and ideas from legacy pros.

Whats the point of the Zuran Orb?

I would replace Culling the Weak with Cabal Ritual. At best you'll get it off turn 1 with a lotus petal or you'll do your combo turn 2. Next I would replace Tendrils of Agony and Zuran Orb with Rite of Consumption.

I thought about Cabal Ritual some more. If you're not running on a budget I would actually use Mox Diamond instead.

nice additional win tactic:
if you play 2 lotus petal you have 2 mana/ 1 lotus petal and 1 dark ritual: and still 19+ cards in hand. play sickening dreams and you win...

Sickening Dreams does damage to both players so you would die as well.

The point of the Zuran orb is if you are running late and don't get the first turn off that you now have a way to gain additional life so that you can draw more cards and combo off easier. The culling is better for this deck because it allows the spamming of spells easier. You can cull Griselbrand so he is back into the graveyard to revive him and do it again. Just for storm purposes really.

okay this is way sicker than my reanimater deck. but I don't understand where the 21 card draw is coming from, care to explain?

Grislebrand does 7 damage, you gain 7 life. Your now at 27, use his ability 3 times and you draw 21 cards.

You either entomb or cabal therapy him to the grave, pull him out with shallow grave or goryo's and he has haste. Attack, You have 27 cards now. Draw 21. Storm.

wow. this is a new legacy deck called tin fins. look it up. you and your buddy were ahead of the game on that one. way to go!

here's a list i put together right after tin fins blew everyone's mind its pretty much the standard list +1 children -1 reanimate.

yea tin fins, but i like this variation, a lil bit more budget, id still run an emrakul since u can both use sacrafice and rite of consumption on it aswell as reanimate it, children of korlis is key and pretty cheap still, and figure out a way to fit in durress to get rid of their force of wills. As far as side board id go echoing truth for sure if u can splash blue. Nice work, tin fins is a fun deck and so is the modern version grisel and fat which is red/blue/black and gets off with through the breech and fury of the horde.

the modern version is definitely super interesting and cool also. drawing a bunch of cards and playing fury of the horde/ nourishing shole/ soul spike, and comboing someone out turn 2 in modern, with pact of negation back up, is pretty sweet.

The thing about Emrakul is that he can't be used as a draw engine to feed storm. Sure he can come in and swing for 15 but on first turn what are you typically annhiliating? A land and a creature most of the time. Griselbrand isn't there to swing for 7. He is there to draw 21 cards and then storm out. Or just rites of consumption. I looked at tin fins lists and I like my list better. I find it personally more accessable to the first turn win because I have more consistancy in mana manipulation.

emrakul isnt there to swing for 15 and pass turn. Hes there because with children of korlis in the deck you can draw infinite cards by sacking and re animating korlis again and again. once you have less than 7 cards in your library, you cast a discard spell on yourself and bin emmy. let his grave ability trigger and shuffle your grave back into your library. by abusing this loop, you can net infinite storm and infinite mana. then you can either play tendrils or even hard cast emrakul. another alternate win, is too re animate gris-> swing for 7-> draw 21 cards but oop, no tendrils-> bin and re animate children for the loop, or re animate emmy and swing for kill.

Okay, now I see. I didn't think of it like that before (obviously). My deck doesn't generate infinite mana and life but it does generate enough to get the first turn win most of the time. Which I'm sure most of you can imagine.
