Yes Chained to rocks IS cheaper but only gets rid of creatures and one creature at that.
I would also drop Duress and add thoughtseize

Probably why it's perfect then :p I'd run another Ashiok, he/she can ruin your opponents game, like getting a boros reckoner, or a god etc. It's a great card, underrated in my opinion
Like aggro mono red? Just sideboard some detention sphere's or oblivion rings, or far // away, azorius charm to return their aggro creatures to their hands. Or are you talking burn?

The only problem I have with deck is it's weakness to mass removal such as Supreme Verdict. I would add Golgari charm in the sideboard just for that reason alone.

Take out some of the not legal lands for standard and add Stomping grounds and Temple of Abandon and a couple of Gruul gates and it wouldn't be too bad in standard
Also, if you didn't know, you can Boros Charm Medomai to give him double strike to give you two turns.
I would take out an Isperia for an angel of serenity or possibly Jace Architect of thought. A good mana base would be 2 guild gates and 4 hallowed Fountains fallowed by 11 plains and 7 islands. Also I would take out Divine Favor for Ordeal of Heliod, 10 life and 3 counters is not bad. I would also add a couple of Dissolves and Sycopates for a good countering.
Ninja: I wouldn't say giving an opponent life is counter intuitive, this is why Swords to plowshare is better than Path to exile. Giving an opponent life is really not too much of an issue, in my experience it's just a minor setback but in the long run would you rather them have a Boros reckoner you can't kill because you only have 2 mana or devour flesh it. And yes Far // Away is a great card and I feel the same away about it compared to devour flesh as you do.
