Deck Description

This deck is really awesome to make on a budget if you want to just make a combo deck for kitchen table fun then this is your deck. I do know that their is a planeswalker version of this Win condition, However i feel that this one is a much cheaper version and will get the job done efficiently

How to Play

You wanna make sure you have the three peices of your deck, Sage Of hours, Roaring primodox, And Sandsteppe mastodon, You wanna bolster the sage then attack with him then remove the counters and take another turn. Upkeep and bounce back mastodon and do it over and over again a great bonus is adding aqueous form after you bolster its just value city up in this peice

Deck discussion for Infinite Turn Combo

Sorry to tell you, but this doesn't work. The bolster ability does not target creatures. You can actually bolster creatures with shroud. The combo won't work as is. However, what would work is using some of the Abzan counter craziness to do what you're trying to do. There are a lot of creatures and spells that put counters on creatures, without having to use the bolster ability. Armament Corps, Satyr Grovedancer and Living Totem are good examples in Standard. Plus if you add Hardened Scales, you can double, triple or even quadruple the number of counters you add on, which can get you to the 5 counters you need very easily.

I don't see why this wouldn't work. Sandsteppe Mastodon's ability reads:

"When Sandsteppe Mastodon enters the battlefield, bolster 5. (CHOOSE A CREATURE with the least toughness among creatures you control and PUT FIVE +1/+1 COUNTERS ON IT.)"

You can put at least one sandsteppe mastodon out every turn provided you have enough mana (using roaring primodox). He's not trying to trigger Safe of Hours's heroic ability, he's just putting 5 +1/+1 counters on Sage of Hours a whole bunch using sandsteppe mastodon & roaring primodox.

Maybe I'm just missing something, but I truly do not see how this strategy won't work.

You're right. I actually thought you were trying to do it through heroic triggers, but the Sage is going to be the lowest toughness creature so he will always get the 5 bolster counters. My mistake. Well thought out. I'm guessing you'll end up using a second mastodon to attack with aqueous form each additional turn. crazy idea, wow.

Yeah, roaring primodox has some insane combos. It's probably my favorite card.
