Deck Description

*This deck is not intended for tournament use*

I like to build broken and crazy decks for casual play. I guess because I'm just an asshole :) Black has always been my favorite color and aside from it's weakness to heavy early-game control decks THIS is pretty powerful :) With the consistent Demon/Sacrifice/Nightmare theme I think it's my new favorite!

Please like & comment :) I would love to hear your feedback!

How to Play

Best thing to do is try out a few sample hands yourself...

Instead of telling you how the "God Hand" would play out turn by turn, I'll describe what my first 3 sample hands were like.

1st: Dark Rit + Bitterblossom + Bloodpet on first turn. Culling the Weak to cast Desecration Demon on the second. Third turn play Contamination.
2nd: Dark Rit + Dark Rit + Bitterblossom + Contamination on first turn. (THAT was awesome)
3rd: Bloodpet turn one. Basal Thrull turn two. Turn three Bloodpet then sacrifice all three and pay 6 life for Demon of Death's Gate + Dark Rit + Desecration Demon. Turn 4 Recurring nightmare.

Because your running 8 demons, might i recommend Shadowborn Apostle, maybe like 8-10 of them.

I definitely thought about it... What I'll probably do is create a second deck revolving around the Apostle and compare this one and that... Then make a decision based off the research :)
They'd be good for Culling the Weak fodder because otherwise I have to play 6 of them before they're useful for bringing out demons. I can sac 3 for the ability of one of the Demons.. but since the thrulls do that too AND can be sac'd for quick mana ramp for the other I would prefer them for now.

Recurring nightmare seems fairly pointless to me. Your good creatures will very rarely hit the graveyard.
The main thing your combo is missing is redundancy, with exactly 4 copies of each card you may have several turns where you are not really doing anything. Reassembling skeleton can function as copies 5-8 of bitter blossom as you can return him every turn to keep the lock going. Unfortunately there's not really a good replacement for contamination.

Also phyrexian obliterater > demon of death's gate.
Obliterater can just be cast, and if you cast him turn 1 or 2 he can still end the game on his own. He also blocks like a champ. Demon of death's gate has a hard time being cast without butter blossom online and even then it takes three turns of bitter blossom if you don't have a contamination lock.
So
-4 demon of death gate
+4 obliterater
-2 recurring nightmare
+2 reassembling skeleton.

I understand, and completely agree with your suggestions as it would create a better/more fluid/consistent deck. However, I am also trying to keep a strong theme going at the same time. It's a Nightmarish Demon Deck, lol. But for tournament play, you are totally right.

And for clarification: I know my creatures won't hit grave often, but the use of Recurring Nightmare is the EXTREME flavor it adds to the deck as well as a reusable backup or recovery plan in case some one just plays "murder" after I waste half my cards to get out my demon quickly.

By the way, nice freaking combo with Bitterblossom and Contamination. I have had a copy of Contamination since Urza Saga came out, and was never able to find a way to properly use it. Nice.

That's what I WANT to get going... A group of friends to have a weekly night of this you know? Not just card shops. Also: I've heard certain decks being banned from friend circles, haha. This and my turn 2 sac combo engine would probably make that list xD

I'd use some fetch cards for consistency. How about insidious dreams? Maybe demonic tutor?

How to play Recurring Nightmare? Look up the card: Survival of the Fittest.

Recurring Nightmare (Enchantment): Sac a creature and Return Recurring Nightmare to your hand: Bring any creature from your graveyard into play.

Survival of the Fittest (Enchantment): Discard a Creature card: Search your library for a creature card and put it into your hand.

Now use cards that have "when it comes into play" effects like Wall of Blossom, Shriekmaw, Spikeweaver, Man-o-war. Gravedigger.

Fun stuff.

You can cast stuff like Emrakul or almost any creature in Magic on turn 4 with this combo. Or run several creatures, as I said above, that have effects like "when this creature comes into play" and "when this creature is put into your graveyard."

Emrakul doesn't work. Recurring nightmare only works as a sorcery, so emrakul would shuffle your graveyard away.

My bad. I give out bad advice, more often than not, lol.

This looks fun, more wacked up and crazy than my more clinical aproach to the demons, i would recomend you to maybe try out a playset of blistergrub, but i don't think it would fit in with the overall theme, cool if you'd check out mine and give me some pointers if you have some ;)
