Deck Description

My WIP real life Oath Of Druids deck. I am currently trying to get a start in playing Vintage format, and have always really liked this deck. For the foreseeable future this will be a powerless build, save for any X-number of proxies events i am able to go to. Currently im about 90% done with the deck right now it's just fine tuning within my budget. I will keep this one updated so please follow & comment :)

How to Play

Firstly i will say by no means am i an expert at this deck. Right now i'm very new to the vintage seen, though my MTG career started back in late Urza Saga. In it's current form I play Oath as a medium speed, stalling deck. The most basic goal is to get out Orchard and Oath asap.

Forbidden Orchard on it's own will provide the engine you need to get going off the free token you give. Allowing you to get off a T2/3 Iona, Griselbrand or Emmy if everything goes as you want it to. More realistically with the lack of tutors and UGW you will want a T3-4 Oath proc, make sure your opponent doesn't get to benefit and swing for broke.

The rest of the deck is focused on bogging down and forcing your opponent to waste resources to keep their spells and field in play. Then Beat their face in with Emmy/Brand or soft lock with Iona.

Ideally you want some combination of
Fastbond* Optional but it can enable a very quick t1 opening that puts your opponent on the defensive right away if they can't answer a Oath right away.
Oath
Lotus Petal (If playing with full power sb this or remove it outright)
Orchard (essential to your deck)
island
forest
Ponder/Brainstorm
Gitaxian Probe: 2 life to sneak a peak and make sure you are safe to open with a risky T1 play, always worth. Dont worry about the 2 life, the first 19 don't really matter.
&
Spike/Pierce: In this deck i highly value these for t1-2 disruption when you really want to slow down your opponent. The both answer FOW and Pact for U if you get into a counter war early although i don't recommend this. No nether are as good as Force stricly speaking but on a budget it will do. I do plan to get a play set of Fow as my next big upgrade.

And under no circumstances do you want to keep any creatures unless the rest of the hand is godlike. Oath is all about self mill to cheat out massively op creatures that must be answered or it's game.

Defending Gaea's Blessing: Over the dozens of list's and articles i read while building my deck. I found there is a great divide regarding this card, some love it as protection, others feel it is completely wasted where you could slot a more powerful card(s). In my testing thus far i find at least 1 and no more than 2 are worth running
