Deck Description

I wanted to make a deck that I could name "The Doomsday Machine" and this turned out to be the most fun to play deck I've made yet. Its all Artifacts and is heavily based on charge counters. This is very flexable and most of the time my friends are confused as hell as to what I'm doing.

Being colorless mana is scary easy to come by, esspecially if you get out Metalworker. Prototype Portal works awesome with almost anything in this deck but its best with Energy Chamber and just gets insane with Voltaic Key. Once it gets rolling you can win by either decking them with Grindclock, or blasting all their permanents with Lux Cannon, or by just pouring mana into Steel Hellkite.

Deck discussion for Doomsday Machine

if you can fit it in, darksteel reactor would be great in this deck

I run Darksteel Reactor in the sideboard incase I want to replace the Grindclocks. The only downside to the reactor is I would find myself focusing all my efforts into just putting counters on it, and it just took to much away from putting counters on the fun stuff. Not only that but a big weakness would be boomerangs just returning a reactor with 19 counters to you hand, but that's just how the game works I guess. But thanks for the suggestion.

ok, played this in a 6 person FFA and won due to an ichor rats being cast prior to knowledge of contagion engines :)

Seriously fun deck. Im not too familiar with newer cards but it needs a dump for mana that gets excessive later in the game.

Used 20 sided dice for counters and felt limited.

Yeah the mana gets pretty crazy as the deck builds momentum, thats the main reason I run the Steel Hellkite. Just wait til you see how things work with a Prototype Portal on a Voltaic Key, using 1 mana with each key to make more keys, then use them to just untap and retap things like Lux Cannon or Grindclock! It gets insane. Not the fastest deck in the world I'll admit, but a blast none the less in multiplayer games.

Thanks for giving it a try, hope it serves you well.

I run a tourny legal mostly Scars deck very similar to this that's a blast to play too. Its a lot slower than this one and I love the Lux Cannon. Nice job :)

I like the Urza Lands, but have you thought about Vesuva, Academy Ruins, and 4 Islands? Amulet of Vigor on top of that generates mana so freaking fast it's stupid. If the Vesuvas come in as cloudposts, and you manage to draw Amulet of Vigor in your first turn or so, you can pretty easily have 9 mana by turn 4, but up to 16. Semblance Anvil thrown in makes things pretty cheap to cast too.

Also, if you're rocking charge counters in an artifact deck, maybe try tossing in Throne of Geth to proliferate, Power Conduit for moving counters around, and Arcbound Reclaimer so you don't lose anything.

Can you offer up a little help with my Artifact charge counter/Removeal deck?

I have been thinking about getting x4 Vesuva to take the place of the Glimmerpost, have them come in as Cloudpost. Semblance Anvil could have a big impact in the deck being that all spells are artifacts. Since mana flows pretty easy as is I may just sideboard it for the time being since I'm not sure if there's anything I'd want to take out, I'll probably give it a shot at some point.

I really wanted Arcbound Reclaimer in the deck from the beginning, only reason I never added it was I have it in a modular Arcbound deck, but the more it think about it I really should be adding it in somewhere.

By the way I checked out your deck...
Awesome Combos! I like it!
