Deck Description

This is a fun Commander deck based around one of my favorite cards: Eight-and-a-Half-Tails!

Eight and a Half Robots is a joke about this being a Voltron deck. For those who don't know Voltron is a cartoon where a bunch of small robots combine into a big ol' boy. Voltron in MTG refers to playing a single creature and buffing it, protecting it and using it to win.

How to Play

This deck has a few main strategies. This is my first serious Commander deck; it is currently in the proxy/pre-purchase stages. All feedback welcome.

I would recommend giving this a quick read through as I learned a lot from it and the information included was different (and I feel much more relevant) than most info i found on Mono-White Commander.

The main strategies I included are as follows:

1. Blink

i have a fair amount of blink shenanigans; Restoration Angel, Galepowder Mage, Glimmerpoint Stag, Eerie Interlude, Flickerwisp, Ghostway, etc. Blinking creatures gives them protection (blinking after blocking still blocks but wont kill the creature, blinking in response to targeted spells counter them) Utility (Cards like Sun Titan).

2. Protection from White

Eight-and-a-half-Tails is ridiculous with protection. More than even Voltron applications the ability to give anything pro white is goofy. As such there are plenty of cards both one shot and recurring that give all or some of my creatures protection from white in various ways. Between blocking and blinking opponents shouldn't ever feel comfortable fucking with my shit.

3. Disruption

I tried to keep disruption fun and politically neutral; primarily punishing players for fucking with my shit. Little to no boardwipe, minimal targeted wipe and card like grand abolisher and norn's annex.

4. Angels

Just too many solid bodies that are fairly budget (5-10) not to include. Buffs my creature presence, gives me so top deck and late game power and several have blink or protection related effects for added synergy and value. Adarkar Valkyrie and Gift of Immortality create a slow, vulnerable soft lock if left unchecked for example.

5. Voltron Beats

Equipment, Auras and protection all come together when necessary. Eight-and-a-Half-Tails is great as a body for spectral ward, white ward, unquestioned presence, etc. Jareth is my alternate Voltron general and makes a ridiculous buddy for Eight-and-a-Half-Tails (1W to negate a source of damage or blocker for Jareth is silly). Eight-and-a-Half-Tails also enjoys double strike ala general damage.
