Some sweet 8 rack action. Super disruptive, and nothing is funnier than making people discard their precious cards. This deck is around $125 bucks, which isn't terrible for Modern. Also, if you like this deck, you can add the more expensive pieces later and make it even better. The main cuts I made were Thoughtseize, Liliana of the Veil, and IOK. You're probably thinking "you're crazy, that deck will never work!" But this can win you some serious games.
The Rack and Shrieking Affliction are the win con. when they have little to no cards in hand, these deal damage. Pretty simple, but it can seriously do some damage. Get 2-3 of these out, and put them on a FAST clock.
Ensaring Bridge is a must in this deck. I know it is pretty pricy, but I've tried this deck without it, and it just doesn't work that well. This card can seriously lock your opponent out, because you often have 0 cards in hand. Which makes this essentially mean "you cannot attack." I plan on increasing this to 4 in the future.
Necrogen Mists is a great replacement for Lili. A constant discard is what you need to keep them at 0 cards in their hand. Obviously lili would be better because of her other abilities, but she is $90 a pop. I am saving up, though.
Bile Blight is sweet creature removal that also can get rid of multiple tokens, pretty sweet.
The discard spells are obviously what activate the racks. Thoughtseize and IOK are the best discard cards in the game, but I feel like I did a fairly good job replacing them on a budget. Duress lets you see your opponents hand, and you can get rid of pesky combo pieces. Blackmail is SEVERLY underrated, especially when they have less than 3 cards in hand. It can get rid of land, which will cripple your opponent. Ravens Crime is retraceable, which is amazing, and creates a soft lock with Dakmor Salvage. Dredge Dakmore, use it to retrace Raven's Crime. Funeral Charm is an instant speed, which is HILARIOUS because you can use it to make them discard a card they just drew on their turn. Wrench Mind is great, discarding 2 cards can be huge. Smallpox is extremely disruptive. Especially because you don't need creatures or a ton of mana, so it doesn't hurt you terribly. But this can be a powerhouse of a card. However, it's only 3 of because it is only extremely useful when they have a hand, land, and creatures.
The sideboard is something I need help with. I put in some graveyard hate with Relic, some token hate with Illness, some more removal, and Surgical Extraction to cripple some decks. But this is a work in progress, and I would welcome recommendations on the sideboard.
