Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

A version of ANT for legacy without blue, that focuses on artifacts and mana produciton to hit the big storm. This is the highest % of the time I have ever seen in a deck to hit the first turn kill, including Belcher.

Deck discussion for 1st Turn Kill

what's the combo for 1st turn win?

cast a first turn Ad Nausium that allows you to draw about half your deck, then cast all the zero cost stuff you just drew and follow it up with a Tendrils of Agony for 20 or more

you use the manna to play ad Nauseam, and use that to draw enough cards to get tendrils of darkness and play 9 spells. play the 9 spells followed by tendrils of darkness to instantly do 20 damage=) if you dont have an Ad Nauseam in you hand, use diabolic intent to get it from your deck

But how does you get so much mana?

0

culling the weak and dark rituals give him all the mana he needs for the deck.

I think it's Tendrils of Agony combined with all the low cost casts.

yes, thats it, but it wor't work turn one without Ad Nausium (ANT = Ad nausium Tendrils) but you probably knew that :)

Yeah haha, I'm loving the idea. Super early kills are hilarious and this one seems like it works pretty often actually.

Drawing sample hands, I manage to actually get a game winner once every 4-5 draws.

thats pretty close to what I figure it's first turn win % is... 20-25% I get alot of 2nd and 3rd turn wins out of it too when I lack that 5th mana on the first turn.

0
Posted 24 June 2011 at 16:54

Yeah, I would say 2nd turn wins show up every 3 draws or so on average. I want this deck now haha.

If I had more Pact of negations and Diabolic intent I would put them in there, but these are the cards I own

so if someone mindbreak traps what happens? and yea it seems more common to get it, i like this idea.

0

oh, there are a few big weaknesses in this deck mindbreak trap, mental misstep, leyline of sanctity... and a few more, but lets pretend like it is bulletproof, I like that better.

OK, so there have been a few nice comments so far today, but I would really like criticisum and new ideas for this... my play group is pretty familiar with this deck (and often wont play me if I pull it out) so I would like a new twist on it.... ideas?

I think that if you pulled this cheese on me in a casual game I wouldn't play you again... but if I decide to make this I WILL use it in my next tourny its frakin bad-ass!

put thoughtseize in your sideboard for those Force of Wills, mental misstep ect. I assume that what duress is already there for. how does this match up against the current legacy decks out there? have you played may tournys with it?

0

Thank you, but I don't consider this cheese, this is a carefully considered battleplan revolving around a early win. Things I consider "cheesey" in MTG is when you go to a tournament and play carbon copy decks from worlds. as for my record with this, I have only played it in two tournaments and my overall record is 13-2 I got beat by merfolk and myself (suicide)

no run cabal therapy rather than thoughtseize and dont worry about mental misstep, its banned =-)

possibly cabal ritual or dark rituals will help boost your mana and your storm count.

sorry, just noticed the dark rituals, but possibly cabal ritual.?

I tried that before I put in the culling the weak and found that I never hit threshold and that the 2 cast cost was a little painfull for the Ad Nau. draw. but I think I might try it again with culling the weak and see how it goes

ok, i see it, i noticed you dont have a sideboard though either? um and for the deck idea, again it might be a tad expensive but you ever thought about lions eye diamonds?

I copied you a bit on a deck I made this weekend, I don't have the Opals and only had 3 Ad nausium, but I put in 4 Pact of Negation and It worked very well. I think for your deck 4 Pact of Negation is a must. I love that you don't have to worry about that upkeep issue with it cause the game won't go that long if you have started your winning turn. Everyone that I played with this weekend was impressed with this deck though, and there are a couple guys that are pretty good.

Cool deck! I once made one similar, but using Pact of negation in case my opponent tries to stop the combo: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=229532

Its banned in Modern but is Legacy legal.

cool deck. I think its called Spanish Inquisition (SI). I would defiantly play cabal ritual, and maybe Lion's eye diamond + infernal tutor.

0

Why diabolic intent over demonic tutor?

0
Posted 06 January 2012 at 17:14

In a build with Cabal Ritual I prefer Diabolic Intent over Demonic Tutor because of threshold. In this case don't make a huge diference. A set of Pact of Negation can help to get the machine running.

This is the ANT version of SI, I always thought it was neat, but it's not as fun to play as Pact SI for me. I'm interested to know how your run with this deck goes, with PSI I have about a 65% chance to go for a turn one kill, so I'm very interested in how well a build without Lion's Eye Diamond and Infernal Tutor runs.

Oh! So this is a deck.
About a month ago, I saw my copy of Ad Nauseam and thought it would be fun if I put it in a deck with a ton of mana boost and a ton of 0 mana things. I put a proxy on Vault: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=242023
A week ago, I made it legacy legal: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=275975
Mine still needs work, but I'm glad it is a real archetype and I will certainly take ideas from your deck!
I might also make one that uses Lion's Eye Diamond, Infernal Tutor, Threshold, Flashback, Hellbent, and/or Madness. That might get a little unfocused though...
Cool. +1

Here's the new version. It uses several tutors and a lot more mana accel. Main enabling combo is either a thopter into a Diabolic Intent or an Infernal Tutor with a Lion's Eye Diamond. Sorry to seemingly be using your deck as a billboard, but I'm excited about this. Please check it out.

mox opal is legendairy, especially with lots of card draw like A-NAUS youll have issues, sell one n get a thaughtseize to replace duress, its the best protection against combo decks

I have a turn 0 win that's been seen probably by everyone. Not sure if it's banned in Legacy or Modern or what, but... here it is either way for those who are interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yttRlNGkGSY

Yeah that's the old 0 turn flash deck. Most of those cards are banned in Modern and Flash is banned in Legacy because it is a ridiculously broken card.

you can only have mox opal on the field at any one time correct?
this is just a general question

Like all of you i've tried a few draws, and gotten loads of first turn kills. What i don't understand is how this deck can work so well?.... There's just 6 possible combo cards, and in my mind the chance for getting one of theese cards in your opening hand (or first draw) should be slim.

also like most combo decks: Thoughtseize and surgucal extraction or a well placed force of will (or any first turn counterspells) can render this deck dead :)

Anyway! Great job! awesome deck!

pints for the kilgore trout reference(assuming thats what your sn references..)
buut this deck isnt very good.
goldfished this guy about 10 times, and got 0 first turn wins. after t4 i would give up an try again.
didnt get this deck to go off once. never once ran into an ad nauseam or diabolic intent.
maybe i just have shitty luck.
but a deck this inconsistent doesnt seem viable to me.
and with only 3 duress and a single counterspell to protect you : /

cool combo if it works though!

heres a list my buddy made. its essentially an actual legacy tournament viable list, similar to what your trying to do here.
