Sorry, I meant to post this under your thing, whoops. Dark Confident is great, but I can't afford them at $34 a pop. Maybe Dark Tutelage but that would cost 1 extra mana. Death Shadow is great and they are not too expensive. I personally also want 4 thoughtsieze for this deck but they are out of my price range also. I was going to use 4 inqusitions of (starts with a k) as a cheap mans thoughsieze. I am still playing around with this so anything else that you can suggest drumhead would be much appreciated. You did hit the nail on the head with Urborg, tomb of yawgmoth which I already had some. If you can try to keep budget in mind, I broke my wallet on the dark depths so I want need to keep the next couple of cards under $10 (per card) if that is possible. I pretty much own everything that is listed in the deck (except the dark depths but I already ordered them).

Vampires tutor and demonic are both band from legacy, that is why I am using the other two, I will look into the other cards that you mentioned. The main reason I like peat bog is that I can have that, dark depths, and a hexmage and still get the 20/20 on turn two. As for the nighthaze, I was trying to guarantee that the marit lage will be unblockable. I am just mainly explaining my choices, I will consider what u recommended.

Also with a Copperline Gorger, Rite of Flame, 3 Sol Rings, Tunnel ignus, New Frontiers, and a Elvish Spirit Guide you can do 9 damage to each opponent on the first turn. Then on second turn if you draw another New Frontiers you can do up to 27 damage to each opponent.

This decks focus is on having a Tunnel Ignus out when casting New Frontiers. Wizards of the Coast oracle text on Tunnel Ignus states that if a spell causes multiple lands to enter at the same time and they are the first lands to enter then the opponent takes damage for each one since each one triggers the others.

Starting Hand: 1 Copperline Gorge, 2 Rite of Flame, 1 Sol Ring, 1 Ankh of Mishra, 1 Tunnel Ignus, 1 New Frontiers

First Turn: Draw Copperline Gorge, Play Copperline Gorge, Play Sol Ring, Play Ankh of Mishra

Second Turn: Draw Whatever, Play Copperline Gorge, Play Rite of Flame, Play Rite of Flame, Play Tunnel Ignus, Play New Frontiers with 4 extra mana (with Tunnel Ignus and Ankh of Mishra that is 20 damage to each opponent and it will have been 10 damage to you this turn)

Ta Daaa!

Ideal starting hand would be: 1 Eldrazi Temple, 3 Sol Rings, 1 Font of Mythos, 1 Skittering Invasion, 1 Hand of Emrakul.

1st Turn: Draw Eye of Ugin, Play Eldrazi Temple, 3 Sol Rings, 1 Font of Mythos

2nd Turn: Draw Skittering Invasion, Not of This World, and All is Dust, Play Eye of Ugin, Play Skittering Invasion, Play Skittering Invasion, Play Hand of Emrakul

3rd Turn: Draw Kozilek Butcher of Truth, Not of This World, Vesuva, Play Kozilek Butcher of Truth, Draw Eldrazi Temple, It That Betrays, Emrakul the Aeons Torn, and Cryptic Gateway, Attack with Hand of Emrakul

4th Turn: Game Over

I own two master transmuters, they will not only help me keep him alive (+ other golems) but also he will allow me to mass produce the golems.

What do you guys think about replacing the Red Sun's Zenith in the sideboard with Assault Strobe, it would work well Kiln Fiend.

Anyways lets start a new part of this discussing not only what to add but what to take out.

Possible add cards:
Assault Strobe
Hex Parasite
Vampire Hexmage
Surgical Extraction
Volt Charge
Staggershot

What to take out?
Also is 22 lands good or should I lower it for the low mana cost to make room for more spells, personally I am always nervous of not drawing mana so 22 is the lowest I normally would go with out any type of mana ramp up.

I am trying to get a deck idea in place that doesn't focus on Zendikar block or 2011 for when they get rotated out in October. Although I think I should be working on a black deck due to the new sets plane will be primary black.

Thank you Rustedbucket, I totally forgot about vampire hexmage. It would not be a bad choice seeing how its a 2/1 first strike and it only costs 2 swamps.

Damn, I thought I could force the spell to fizzle out, oh well.

Also I just wanted to add that Hex Parasite is a awesome card since it can deal with so much but especially Planeswalkers.

Why would spellskite not be able to redirect the Go for the Throat. This is one of reasons I thought it was so good was that you can change the target of a spell such as that to Spellskite and then the spell would just fizzle.

Only suggestion is Canopy Cover your Melira to protect. Most people don't have stuff to deal with enchantments for now so I wouldn't worry about the Unlife.

Have you considered adding in a pyrexian obliterater. You can birthing pod your treasure mage for one and then you have something no one wants to mess with. I busted a phyrexian obliterater and a foil birthing pod in the same booster and I jumped to that type of conclusion of whipping the obliterater into play.

What do you guys think of Surgical Extraction for dealing with control decks, if they counter something early on and they are tapped out I can Surgical Extraction their counter spells or draw spells. Plus I don't need mana to cast it, I can use life instead.

I was starting to consider inquisition of kozilek until I realized that they are a $6 uncommon! Wow, that hurts my wallet, most of this deck is cheap, cheap, cheap except for the lands but I had most of them anyways. I just wanted to let you all know that I appreciate your suggestions but try to keep in mind the price of certain cards. If I win this weeks tournament then I will have no problem buying them but I kind of broke my wallet buying lots and lots of new phyrexia fat packs and booster boxes.

I actually thought about reverberates too, I have 4 of them and they work nicely to copy spells. I could easily copy a counter spell and hit them or I can copy a lightning bolt and do 6 damage divided between 2 targets for 3 mana. Stagger shot is something I wanted to throw in here, my local magic card store was out of them and I am sorting through tooooo many cards of my own to find them. rebound seems like a solid mechanic for helping the ascension. I am still considering Inquisition of Kozilek and despise but I am afraid that would slow the deck down. Red Sun's Zenith and Black Sun's Zenith I both like but to get Black Sun's Zenith going takes a lot of mana. If they can get something big out then that can be a problem but that is why I like Go for the Throat/doom blade. I have 2 of each in the main and 2 of each in the side board because I don't know what my opponent will be using and I need variety. Also if they have something indestructible then I can try and force sacrifice it (granted its the only thing on the board). I know many people these choices would be easy for them to make but I feel it all comes down to playing style, most of my decks are out of the gate aggressive. I usually want my opponent playing to deal with me and not the other way around. I am not certain but I feel I can duke it out with a black/blue control deck. It makes me nervous but I feel I can send enough cheap burn spells to deal with most counter spells. Plus if I through in a reverberate I can copy a preordain or such to keep spells in my hand like them. I have a few days left to consider all these suggestions before the tournament so I will try to try them out with the actual deck and see how I like my hands and draws. Thank you to everyone that is helping me.
