Beautiful deck! I think I would put in any combination of Merciless Eviction, Final Judgment, and/or False Prophet (to deal with Indestructible creatures or with decks which operate off/through their graveyards)

I'd have to add in Boros Charm and Fabled Hero.

Yeah - with the exception of Virulent Sliver, I was going more for Slivers with abilities which accumulated. But now that you mention it, Quick Sliver is nice for turning Slivers into potential kill spells; the deck was missing that aspect.

Thanks for the suggestions! Certainly influenced the deck.

Nice deck! Cool classical revival.

Have you considered Sunspear Shikari and/or Spidersilk Net?

Honestly, no attempts. Not a fan of Doge. Just bein' sincere. The word 'such' existed long before that internet abomination.

I suppose if it was an attempt, it would have been a fail, haha

Back to discussions about the praise & development of the deck. Thanks.

I'm just saying - the earliest you can gain life is turn 4 with Sorin. And that's if you have the lands (which you may have lost life from as well). By the time you do get out the Planeswalkers, I don't see what's protecting them from being taken out in 1 hit. I think it's a great deck; I gave it a like. I just think it needs some flying, kill spells, or early life gain. The closest thing I see to aiding that aspect is Blind Obedience (stalling and Life gain).

I definitely get Elspeth's stalling value, taking 6 damage priority off the bat. So if that's the only reason they're there, I got ya. I just figured they were there more for their utilities, not their protectiveness.

Lumberknot would fit nicely in here as well.

The only real problem I can see as a constant is protecting your Planeswalkers from Flying. I think you need some Destroy cards mainboarded or maybe Gift of Orzhova or Stromgald Crusader?

I really like it - I think you can get away with dropping a land, though. I also think there are better spells for what you have (esp. replacing Savage Hunger with Rancor).

Have you thought about Elemental Mastery or Shiv's Embrace?

Yeah, man - Except God-Favored General is only a .25ยข card, I believe.

It's your deck, of course! It's really inspired me to want to make a Soldier deck of my own (that's not standard). I made an EDH one after I saw this. Let me know what you think if you check it out!

Have you considered any of the Born of the Gods Soldiers? Some of them would be nuts for this deck. Especially Brimaz or God-Favored General if you're mana-spoiled and/or top-decking.

-Brave The Elements
-Door of Destinies
-Avian Changelings, Aven Riftwatcher , or even a Stormfront Riders for Flying.

Even one Mutavault could mean a major deal.

But my biggest suggestion would have to be Evangel of Heliod.

Yep - doubling does stack...so if something doubles 3 times, it's x8.

However, in response to the comment above, you wouldn't be able to Scavenge the Hydra because its counters would disappear when it entered the graveyard.

I might suggest Scourge of Skola Vale + Death's Presence (especially in combination with each other and the scavenge mechanic)!

- Hydra sacs creature. Hydra gets stronger.
- Creature dies. Hydra gets stronger.
- Creature exiles from the graveyard, Hydra gets stronger.

All for one mana cost. Just a quick thought!

True - I was thinking you wouldn't only be playing 1 creature per turn. But with the CMC of Coat of Arms, added to its higher potential for better longevity, you'd definitely get more out of Door of Destinies. I was imagining the combo of having 2 or 3 Elementals and 1 Warstorm Surge on the field, then playing an Elemental Appeal (with kicker cost) or even 2 without the Kicker for {8 red}. I mean, so much direct damage. I love the DoubleStrike/Haste/Trample mechanic. I get that that's the point of the deck. I just think even 1 Warstorm Surge could be good for the deck. All someone needs is a fog or a board wipe to prevent everything.

I think it needs a Warstorm Surge....and a Coat of Arms.
