You wouldn't need as many geth's verdict, since gatekeeper would be managing creature control.

I have a modern mono black deck that relies on creatures entering the battlefield too! It's not near as thought out as yours (threw it together in under an hour while bored one afternoon). Also, mine was very much a budget deck. Having said that, one card that made it worth it's weight in gold was skull collector. He's a 1-cheaper black version of roaring primadox. Added in fleshbag marauder and cadaver imp, and I had a great sac engine that left them completely empty. Don't know if that's a direction you'd like to take it, but I found it to be a lot of fun!

Maybe add Helm of the ghastlord as a drawing ability.? You may also need more counter spells to manage everything else. swan song would be great.

If you get the combo right, holy crap batman. I agree with rp. This whole deck fails to work unless you have torpor out (obviously), so you may want to find means to quickly find it and include it in your hand.

You may also want to spend some time looking for ways to it to your hand and/or protect it.

Finally, You have to include some dark rituals. Turn 1, drop a land, dark ritual, torpor, then your huge creature? Despicable.

This deck looks like a ton of fun to play. You can build up some monsters really quick. My only worry is against a strong control deck- returning your creatures and killing them would be a difficult thing to manage, especially since you have no additional card draw in this deck. To manage that, I'd recommend sideboarding a blue splash (because I really hate telling people to completely change decks). There are a ton of great cards in u/g that can get you cards drawn and control some early game shenanigans that your opponent throws out.

Still, great deck, and I'd love to try it out!

Fair enough, team. We'll phase him out, and troll you are spot on with the using arena with gray. Thanks for the input, guys.

Isochron is the one of the most broken cards EVER. This deck looks wicked.

Only thought- as an additional win condition, creeping tar pit. Can swap it for a couple swamps and a watery grave. Other than that, can you say SUPER control?

I really appreciate the passion these decks are creating! I've thoroughly enjoyed making them and reading what others think.

I definitely understand where you're coming from; the deck itself is about full-on assault, using the soldiers thrust into the heat of battle. War himself may utilize other methods of destruction, and that's fine- my take was to focus on the battle portion. I'm glad to have recommendations to sideboard and, if it fits well, include in each deck.

Also, don't consider the presented version the final version, and if you have ideas about building a more war-esque deck, launch it for us to enjoy. The fun part of this is that there will be others who will have even better ideas than me- decks that put this one to shame. And that's good! This site challenges all of us to think strategically and create truly unique combinations.

I can pretty much guarantee that the final horsemen will fall true to name in every sense, so hopefully you'll feel more fulfilled with that one. Thanks again for your passion.

completely depends on the direction to take. Enclave cryptologist is an under-the-radar game changer, lighthouse chronologist, and the ever ridiculous transcendent master. Esper could be tough, unless you incorporate a lot of protection to build them up. Level up usually works best with green- you can then use vorel of the hull clade's ability, include grab lands, and build up your guys quicker. I really like bant for levels, in my opinion black just fails to provide the protection you need early on.

Um, yes. Levels are way fun. They do take time, though. Incorporating some fog to protect while getting going and some global hexproof could make a big difference in getting the deck rolling.

This deck looks painfully annoying! I do agree with Jared above- smother needs to duck out. I understand the importance of having a colorless mana in a tri deck, though, so I'd say you would enjoy go for the throat more.

Only reason mana leak instead of counterspell is that I'm running tri colored, so having a mono is nice, plus the limit on their mana with limited resources. I think i'd choose counterspell if it was u/w. Thanks!

Type your deck name...Perfect card for a deck like this- I chose contaminated grounds over that so it could limit their mana use by changing the land to a swamp. However, it works great with decks that completely own the land burn tactic. Thanks for the ideas!

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but the current medium price for this deck is $666. Coincidence? I think not!

I actually totally agree with you on the color thing. For me, though, I really wanted to create a deck that centered on pestilence itself, and white had the best options for deflecting and absorbing that damage. I'll keep colors in mind as I finalize the 3 others!
