I had considered Blasphemous Act but I'm not sure what I would take out. It could easily finish off most opponents by the time I could play it reasonably. Soulfire Grandmaster is an interesting choice but I'm not crazy about the cost to keep whatever card in hand. I'll give both of them a shot though to see how well they might work! Thanks for the suggestions!

Decided to check out your decks and saw Vampires, very nice! I have a vampire deck as well but this is an awesome idea!

I like your suggestion, thanks! I'll play test the deck with a few of those in and see how it goes! All my friends play casual anyway so we just build whatever decks we want. I find it to be more enjoyable that way rather than trying to keep up with the game with every new expansion.

Thanks for the comment, I appreciate the input! To be honest I'd put this deck down for a while, just too frustrated with it. While it looks good on paper it did not play test so well. However, given your suggestions, I'll take another look at it. I agree with you on Armored Ascension though, it hardly sees play as is, the same could be said for Door of Destinies. I'll post the revamped version soon.

I did recommend Army of the Damned for this deck during the construction. He liked the idea and it will most likely be put in here soon. However, I'm not sure what I'd remove to make room for it.
I really like the idea of proliferate with Door of Destinies. I'll have to find a way to switch things around to test both of these out and see how well it works.

I have a few suggestions for you, but first let me say I like the build you have here just as it is. It's a good combo you have going and I like the use of proliferate.
I would be interested in seeing how this deck might do running Cabal Coffers rather than Bottomless Vault. It may work better, it may not but if you get the chance to test it and it works for you, great! If you prefer that way then you could open up another slot for something else, there would no longer be a huge demand for Grim Affliction.
Secondly, if your casual group of players is anything like what I deal with, Army of the Damned could be counterspelled after you went through all that effort and spent the mana. Even if it were countered you've still got enough that you probably could build back up easily enough. The only thing I could see that would set you back otherwise would be something like Day of Judgement or Havoc Demon but that's generally a board wipe for everyone.
I would definitely look into finding a place in here for Gravecrawler, such a good card for a zombie deck.

Thanks for the comment!

I like your suggestion too, that's a nasty combo. I'm going to add it to the sideboard for now so I can keep it in mind! My friend loves the way this deck plays as is but I at least want him to test this out. He took it down to FNM for some casual play and it performed really well. He won 4 out of 5 matches easy enough. But I agree this may be a better way to go.

I'm always looking for ways to improve my decks! Feel free to check out some of my other stuff too.

So I've gone back, again, to try and find a way to up the mana curve here. I'm considering replacing Everflowing Chalice with Sol Ring or Extraplanar Lens. If I use the lens in conjunction with something like Ancient Den with the Lens then it's unlikely my opponent will benefit from it as well.

No problem, let me know how well your deck does and thank you for the suggestions! :D

Admittedly, I had thought about Honor of the Pure over Light from Within while building this deck. I see your point, given the cost of most of the creatures it would be easier to play and reserve the remaining mana for something else. I'll replace them for now and see how it holds up.
I'll give Orchid a shot too then and see how it goes. It sucks when you have a decent deck and can't get land out when you need it so, it may pay off.

I just built a similar deck. Check it out and let me know what you think: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=413675

I like your use of enchantments though I would caution against running a Coat of Arms in your main deck. If you go up against another tribal deck with that in play your opponent benefits from it too. I would try and find a place in here for at least a couple Kinsbaile Cavalier, giving all of your knights double strike is just too good to pass up. Even a handful of weak creatures become a huge threat when they suddenly deal double the damage.

Only two things I can suggest: Darksteel Forge or Elspeth, Knight-Errant

I've thought about building a deck similar to what you have here but I have to ask: Have you had the chance to test it?

Coat of Arms is spendy but you're better off, if you went up against a tribal deck with it in play, ouch. Nice job with this deck!

First: thanks for the compliment! I really like the way this deck came together and I can't way to really test it. I really thought about having another turn 2 drop in there and Knight of the White Orchid was my first pick. What I may do is play a few games and see how it performs as is and go from there. Since Orchid helps offset a drop in mana I might even remove a couple of plains or take Exemplar and Light from Within down to 3 each and replace them with Orchid.

I built a similar deck for a friend of mine intended for casual play. Immerwolf and Huntmaster of the Fells both greatly help make his deck really competitive. For a little added protection, Asceticism helps to keep the wolves in play too.

Would you look at that? Someone trying to breath some life into a meme that's been horribly overused and was never that funny to begin with. Seriously, this takes away from someone else that's actually trying to build a good deck by occupying a spot on the front page. What if someone new to the site saw this? You think they would take it as a joke or keep looking for a different community?
