Ponder is a lot better. There is a reason it is played so often in Legacy (and not preordain). If you read Ponder it says you can shuffle your library before you have to draw a card.

I think you can use Tezz's second ability to fetch Seat of Synod and Darksteel Citadel. That combo with pentavites and throne of geth could work very well. I like it a lot better then contagion clasp. With voltaic key you could proliferate 4-5 times each turn. Would cost you some pentavites but still.

How do you get Pentavus out normally? Almost always he gets a doomblade when he gets out and to wait two turns to have the mana for counterspell would be slow.

The stoic rebuttal could be a good mainboard card. And I like how you steered away from 'late-game-dead' cards.

Hmm, it seems better then the introdeck. However it could use more focus. And joiner adapt x4 and lotus cobra would make it a lot faster. Perhaps Multani's blessing, the coalition relic or something like that. Explore would be nice aswell, or some elves.

Really nice deck. Good sideboard aswell. I do think however that the blessing should be in your main deck since 3 or more artifacts can be slow to pull off.

I would add some Explore's just to make the deck a bit quicker.

Ponder is better then preordain. You can shuffle the deck with ponder before you draw a card.

Is redirect not a better card then deflection? And 11 enchantmants is a bit much if you have no mana ramp. Perhaps you could add a few ponders. Helm of Obedience is a really nice card to be honest and the deck looks like a lot of fun.

So it is a staring match? You could play a static orb then.

I am wondering the same as GrimVictor. I really like the addition of Tezz's Gambit perhaps even run one extra to make the deck faster.

Oh, and to keep the budget low try to get the duel deck a few more times, should be less then tyring to buy the rares single (the deck is 20 euro here, and the singles around 4-5 euro's) And Etherium sculptors are a common so easy to trade and bound to be cheap to get by.

At this moment I am using a static orb/unwinding clock combo whith Voltaic key and mana vault. With gigadrowse and tumble magnet even rush decks get in a lockdown around turn 3-4. Master of Etherium deals about 8 damage by then with the Voltaic keys.

You can use Tezz second ability to fetch mana I believe (I always use it for Voltaic key or Static orb) Fabricate is a must with any combo deck. I played around a bit with thirst for knowledge in turn 3 on Pentavus and aggrivian restoration in turn 4. Voltaic key combo's really nicely with Mana vault (with 2x Voltaic key it is 7 mana)

Yeah Elspeth's deck was way better. Also a lot of fun to play and make a soldier deck of.

Either use more ramp with Explore (and cards like harrow and your rampant growth etc) or cheaper creatures or mana sources.

I would add 2x Explore and 2x counterspell and 1x simic initate and perhaps anoter 1 or 2 mana costing graft creautre.

I really like the idea of the deck, however the mana curve might prove to be aproblem. Everflowing chalice is a very clunky mana source and your proliferate cards are expensive. So you need your mana source to play them, but your mana source needs them to grow. And if you play blue you should add some counterspells/ ponder to help your deck get going.

I have been trying to make a deck with the Tezz-Elspeth decks aswell. Some pointers might be getting a few voltaic keys. They works nice with Everflowing Chalice and if you have Rings of Brighthearth you get an infinite mana combo.

The problem of the Tezz deck was that it is very slow. I think it might even be a bit slower now, and against any rush deck those steel walls save your life. A tumble magnet is another cheap option to slow the opponent down. Tezz gambit is a good card if you want to proliferate. Master Transmuter is nice aswell to get Triskelion out quickly. Same as the Sculptor. You might want to add some mana sources.

I have been play testing variations of the Tezz deck for a month now. Mainly against mono-black suicide and green ramp decks and the deck starts up a turn or two too slow still. This is my current variation:
