Commander is a different style. You MUST have exactly 99 cards in the deck, excluding commander, and can only have one copy of each nonbasic land card. You can pull your commander out at anytime by paying its mana cost, your deck colors must coincide with your leader's colors... If your leader dies or is exiled you may move it to the commander spot from which you can summon it again for an additional 2 colorless mana cost. And yes the cost is cumulative. Say you have a 2 cost leader that dies four times? It will cost you 10 mana to pull out. You start with 40 life. Its a really famous play type. Im surprised you haven't heard of it.

hp the only thing that you said that I will disagree with is the part where you say that you can play your commander anytime, I don't think that is correct unless the commander has flash.
