Personally, I'd say "Yes" since you already have Path and Doom Blade for creature removal.
Interesting Concept
If you want to have fun with your opponet, why not use soul wardens and gain life for every creature comming into play. If you want to build up creature tolkens Necromancer's Covenant, by eating their creatures what better way is to gain life for it then make them lose life for it?
