Deck discussion for Devoted to Mogis ( Standard )

Nice deck, have you thought about something like Rakdos Shred-Freak or Spike Jester over pack rats to suit the devotion better?

I was gonna use shred-freak but it doesn't typically last long enough to benefit the devotion. Pack rat can boost itself so it doesn't die to a 1/1. I still haven't decided on spike jester or pack rat though. 3 damage is pretty good turn 2, what do you think about Hellhole flailer?

i've never been a fan of hellhole, i just think its ability is overpriced for what it is.

spike jester and desecration demon should be in there

Ok, spike jester is in. I don't want to remove fanatic of mogis for desecration demon though. Mainly because I only have four and I hate switching them from deck to deck already. Don't really want to add another deck I have to add them to all the time.

Master of the Feast is a better alternative to Desecration Demon anyways.

master of the feast is just too good.

Yeah it is rofl, it's got to be one of the most overpowered creatures in standard atm.

I personally am more partial to herald of torment. I'd rather lose 1 life in an aggro deck then give the opponent an even bigger card advantage. That's just my preference though.

Yeah if it lasts too long the card thing can be a problem, but you're getting a much bigger creature for the same mana cost. Though the card drawing can turn in a bonus for you if you swamp them with cards they can't play cause you're up a deck with a draw aspect.

I think I'll sideboard both of them until I get a chance to play it. It's honestly got awhile until it sees real play though. I've built like 5 standard decks that I want to test out first.

its just a shame that this deck wont last in standard for long.

If you're playing against a deck that can either counter or downfall your creatures in response to the devotion trigger you'd probably get screwed.

desecration demon is fun but i would consider replacing lightning strike with lightning bolt

Not bad at all, but I doubt it's stabil enough... ...The devotion for the Fanatic & Merchant aren't good enough... ...you can get more value out of 1 of either in a mono-color deck then out of 2-3 in this deck... ...+the mana base is a little off here, for you have 19 lands only that could produce color & the deck is 2 colors.......

3 Whip is a little too much... ...the sideboards are fine, though I'd use only 3 Searing Blood(since now there aren't as many decks with small creatures as there were be4 Nyx came out) & replace it with a 3rd Mortars...

Good luck, mate!

maybe swap the lightning strikes for madcap skills

Lightning Strike is a pretty good for removal, and works really well with the Satyr Firedancer in the sideboard, so I think keeping them would be better.

Yeah a lot of time Firedancer goes in and dreadbore gets sided out for searing blood. I'll give you there are better cards than lightning strike but not for what I'm using it for.
