Deck Description

DOTP: stands for, Duels of the Planeswalkers.

this is a format that my brother and i came up with. using the name from the magic video game, we have came up with a game type where you literally, play as the planeswalkers. this is a variant of modern and commander mixing together.

Rules:
- Uses the modern ban list.
- Your planeswalker starts the game and always counts as being on the field.
- You may only have one copy and only one total planeswalker in the deck.

Variant rules from commander:
plays like commander but with these rules taken out:
- This is not Singleton
- Deck limits are the same as normal magic
- You commander/planeswalker's cost doesn't increase after death

Planeswalker rules:
- You planeswalker starts on the field with time counter equal to is converted mana cost, where you may not use loyalty abilities until it is out of time counters. it loses a time counter at the start of each of your upkeeps.
- Your planeswalker holds your life counter and it's loyalty counters as separate totals. Damage can be dealt to either. lose of life can still only be dealt to its life total.
- When your planeswalker reaches 0 loyalty counters, it may not use its abilities until you re-summon them. they are still there, but they are treated as if in the command zone, where they cannot do anything till you re-cast them for their mana cost. cards that would remove the planeswalker from the field will just lower its loyalty to 0 instead.
- You and your planeswalker counts as the same person. any card that cards you, targets both. and card that targets your planeswalker, targets you as well. cards that can targets both, targets both, but it's effect does not double, because you both count as one, not two.

Note: This is still a work in progress format, rules can be added, changed, or removed as any time. there is not a forum for these rules yet, so this is the only place to check for them. i will post these rules on every deck a build for this game type. any recommendations for rules are excepted and appreciated. I think a new name is in order is anyone can think of one better than this one's current name. since it is already taken.

How to Play

This deck is for the game type DOTP. Rules listed above.

This deck stays within the parameters that are legal in this new format, and is made not for competition, but for pure flavor. the deck isn't that good but it is for one, budget, and two, flavor filled to match the planeswalker.

Every card in the deck has either "Jace" or "Beleren" somewhere on the card except for the lands. this can be anywhere from name, to flavor text.

Can I make a deck like this for Liliana? Also, what's the budget?
