His mind calm, he sat in the endless fields, meditating on the day's work. The monk had spent the afternoon tending his crops, and sat under his favorite hill in the valley. The world was silent, save the blowing of the wind and the chirp of grasshoppers. The monk quickly extended his arm to the right, blocking a man in dark clothes aiming a kick at his head. In an instant, the man disappears. The monk sat quietly, waiting.Once more the man struck, moving quickly from behind, leg swinging at the monk's neck. He was met this time by a forearm. Another retreat. The monk sat patiently, listening. In an act of desperation, the man in dark clothes leapt out from hiding and over the monk, throwing a dark wave of energy. It moved swiftly, and the earth where it hit was left barren, scorched by its power.Yet the monk remained sitting, and merely shimmered in the wake of the attack.Frustrated, the man approached the monk from the front, and stood looking down at him. "I have to admit, you're quite a tough mark. How did you withstand that?"The monk looked up silently."The sage acts without action and teaches without talking. All things flourish around him, and he does not refuse anyone."The grass grew around him. A cricket jumps off chirping."He gives but not to receive. He works but not for reward. He completes but not for results. He does nothing for himself in the passing worldso nothing he does ever passes."The ground erupted from under the man in dark clothes, launching him high into the air. A creature drew quickly from the ground, stretching five stories high, and glowed in the sun. It let out a deep moan."Thus the sage rules by stilling minds and opening hearts;by filling bellies and strengthening bones. He shows people how to be simpleand live without desires."The creature shrank down gently, taking the form of a barren tree."To be content..."
Life gain is intended to draw out the game, and hopefully get your opponent to eventually start top decking with all their creatures on the field. When you're low on health, pull the plug with Final Judgment and put Boonweaver Giant, with Spectra Ward attached, on the field soon after. If you have multiple fatties, go ahead and drop them earlier - Final Judgment is supposed to be the finisher, and putting a Boonweaver Giant on the field with Spectra Ward should shut down the game. That, or if they're almost dead anyways (from monks using Spectra Ward or Spirit Mantle), just finish off with the Genjus; they benefit from not being creatures when the Final Judgment hits, and so can attack as soon as you have the mana for it.
