Try to get small creatures to feed LotP till you can get Lifelink and/or one or more Spirit links on him, and boost his power high. Use Ward's to protect his arse. With multiple spirit links, every time he hits YOU, you GAIN life, not lose it. Life link helps some, but only one at a time is effective, unlike spirit link, where multiples are effective.
