This deck is built around Mindshrieker for fun/experimental (and to be a budget deck) Also note that this is supposed to be a standard deck. using instants to survive those pesky aggro/earlygame decks and merfolk/vengeful pharao combo to get rid of an attacking creature each turn if able. Mindshrieker really is meant to be useful once you got some mana (also hexproof equip to make it survive throughout the game) Play Augury Owl - Plan ahead, any pharao here? memorize the order and make mindshrieker a beast. things im considering: Skipping the lantern spirits as they doesn't really serve a purpose and is pretty overpriced in mana. Either skipping distress or cutting it down to x2. im considering replacing unsummon with something else. considering using another high cost creature in the deck. considering using despise and/or disentomb and/or dismember delver of secrets? the reason i use Noxious revival but no green mana is that i think the 2 life loss will be worth it most times (especially if you use it in a combo with mindshrieker/distress etc, which you should) The pharao isn't really meant to be played only to be combo'd with mindshrieker, augury owl and merfolk looter - but hey, he might turn out useful some other way. i think the deck needs alot more balancing out before even playing at casual level, therefore please do leave a comment, ideas or any critcism you want. Why not run ponder instead of Augury Owl. The deck would be standard legal then. I not sure I like distress in here. It's the only discard card you have. You would be better of with a delver or something. Im a huge fan of lantern spirit, its the ultimate blocker. I was thinking about making a spirit deck with him and the new awesome spirit creatures. I just wish he cost 1 less mana... So personally i would -4 distress -4 augury Owl then +4ponder +4 delver. This will lower your mana curve. Not to mention this deck feels more aggro/control than just control, so delver fits in better than either owl or distress. Im not sure on the mask, but its a decent card regardless.
Thanks for the advices, yeah distress feels too situational and pond is a really good idea since i want it to be standard :D its kind of funny because i first intended to make this a spirit deck, but it ended up like this with only lantern and mindshrieker left hehe. Im still not completely sure about the lantern thought, it's a really cool card and a good blocker but like you said, the mana cost is a bit high. :P
