Urborg as a 1 of is always nice. Blue manna makes the dark steel citadels tap for black.

Well Julian, putting a land into play is still from somewhere inside the game, depending on where specified. If no place is specified, it defaults back to from hand. The difference is that putting it into play doesn't count towards your 1 land per turn count and can happen on an opponents turn if the card allows. Even if were saying that he can do this though, the Mindslaver still isn't a win con. I'm not sure of any house rules that would actually say, "Sure, Mindslaver means your can do anything." That just isn't fun.

Thats the point I'm making though. Any game is no fun when an opponent all of the sudden says I can change any rule to say or do whatever I want it to do so good luck anybody else. Fun for me would be somebody owning me turn 1 with skill while following all the same rules that the rest of us have to. That, to me, is skillful and fun.

Just about the only unglued combo that is feasibly making a player WANT to concede is using Chaos Confetti, a exchange control of target permanent spell, and a spell that makes all other non land cards Chaos Confetti. But that one just says Concede or I rip your expensive card to pieces and throw it in the air.

That is also false. Controlling someone during their turn according to the rules, not the errata, states that you can't have that player do things like that. Here are some examples.

712.5b The controller of another player can’t make choices or decisions for that player that aren’t called for by the rules or by any objects. The controller also can’t make any choices or decisions for the player that would be called for by the tournament rules.

Example: The player who’s being controlled still chooses whether he or she leaves to visit the restroom, trades a card to someone else, agrees to an intentional draw, or calls a judge about an error or infraction.

712.6. The controller of another player can’t make that player concede. A player may concede the game at any time, even if he or she is controlled by another player. See rule 104.3a.

Do you have any further objections to the point that you literally CANT do the things you are saying?

Cipher works with Invisible Stalker. He's pretty much always gonna hit.

Alright everybody who has helped out or knows someone who might want to chime in. I've made some changes, as you can see. New debate is Sphinx's Rev or Dig through time. If I add Dig I will put in 2 more fetches to push more into grave. Second choice. Debating dropping an Ajani, for either a second Sphinx's Rev or a second Dig through time, Ideas?

A really fun card with the stalker is trepanation blade. Also all those pesky cipher cards.

I know what it does. It says ignore all errata. It does not change the rules. Errata is when a card gets reprinted with a different wording such as Sylvan Library has been to make it more easily understood. A good use for this card might be with Marath, Will of the Wild, who has been errated to say that his X cost can't be 0. Effectively, you could then pay 0 to but a 0/0 token and trigger something like Phurphoros, who would still hit the 2 damage regardless if the token died upon entering. The fact that you ignore the Errata for cards has really nothing to do any of the cards in the list except for the coupon, which is in the sideboard. (Or a big stack outside of the game according to the deck maker.) Again, nothing to grab the card from outside of the game. Fastbond is a powerful card, but it doesn't allow you to go pick up a stack of lands and start dropping them willy nilly. To play a land, it must be in your hand. No errata about that.

Unfortunately Julian. Assuming you are playing by the rules, (What few rules apply due to illegal cards", Fastbond does not allow you to put cards from outside the game into play. Playing a land is read as putting a land from your hand onto the battlefield. Also, Mindslaver does not allow you to do anything with the other players turn that does not pertain to the game. You also cannot say, "I concede". That being said, with those rules aside, I suppose the deck works… if you ignore the rules. Watch out for Force of Will. Has a tendency to say no to turn 1 combos. Here's the land rule.

305.1. A player who has priority may play a land card from his or her hand during a main phase of his or her turn when the stack is empty. Playing a land is a special action; it doesn't use the stack (see rule 115). Rather, the player simply puts the land onto the battlefield. Since the land doesn't go on the stack, it is never a spell, and players can't respond to it with instants or activated abilities.

Instead of darkslick, I'd put in Watery Grave, then take out 4 swamps for Polluted Delta. Then you have a choice to search for a basic when you need it, or just go found that shock land that helps your mana base. Past that cool Idea.

Hey Jessie, I can't find anywhere to send you a message so I guess I'll just leave you a comment and hope you get it. I need some help forming a standard deck I want to play around with. I have some of the base figured out I think, but I'm stuck on what to do for other things. The idea was originally to go no creatures but not sure if it will work. It's currently unlisted but I'll leave a link for it. If you or any of your friends that know standard well could take a look and give me suggestions on where to go from where I am, that'd be great. I'll leave some info in the description for you guys. Thanks!

You should think of Breaking // Entering. Not as good as glimpse, but same mana cost and mills 8.

By the way, you seem to like silly decks. Today I made just one of those. Instead of costing $2000, it's 333 cards for around $400. Fun with Battle of Wits. What do you think?

Since you want to play it in standard, Elixir of Immortality unfortunately doesn't work anymore. You could toss in a couple Crypsis for some more creature protection or triton tactics for double heroic triggers.

Have you looked at Fog Bank? It won't deal any damage, but is a cheaper version of the Guard and could be more of the (I don't get hit) blockers.

But I love politics. My favorite multiplayer EDH deck is Pheldagrif. He's like the ultimate hugger.
