The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Deck Description

My friend told me that Slag Fiend was one of the worst cards ever made. Well... I had to prove him wrong by creating this deck.

How to Play

It's pretty straight forward. Get as many artifacts as you can into the graveyard to make slag fiend stronger, then finish em off with scrapyard salvo! If you get a good hand you can always shrapnel blast a few perilous myrs. If you have strionic resonator out... even better!! Lol

Deck discussion for slag fiend

I challenge you to make a deck with the *actual* worst card ever made, according to Gatherer's community rankings: Face of Fear

Haha oh man. That is a pretty rough card to put into a deck. If I put that card onto the battlefield I would probably geth's verdict MYSELF lol

The only way to make that card semi-worth playing is by playing heartless summoning first.. then maybe a bad moon. But that's a lot just to make a horrible card worth playing. Haha.

I think the card's flavor text does it justice... as if it's admitting it's own lackluster ability.

Please enlighten me on how you link in the comments. Nice deck! I've tried this once, but it failed, this version is much better! Thumbs up

I thought Rod Of Ruin was the worst card ever. There was a continuous joke with my old magic playing friends that we would quit playing if we ever lost to anyone using that card.

What about Atog? It could potentially work in this deck...

Yep. I seen his deck and I have a deck that looks a lot like his. I run 4 Atogs in it. So I added Slag Fiend (did not know about the card). Atogs and Slag Fiend looks nice together.

Pump up the Atog by sacing all of the Artifacts. With all of the artifacts in the graveyard, cast Scrapeyard Salvo and attack with Slag Fiend.

Am i the only one who thinks that Slag fiend is actually a good card? In the mirridion block, the majority of the cards were centered around infect and/or artifacts. Any way artilliarize would work well in this deck.

Slag fiend is a good card, just not in the common deck archetypes.

Thanks everyone for the helpful comments. I totally forgot about Atog. That would definitley be a good addition to this deck. Thank you ninjamonkey for the suggestion. I think I might throw those in there once I put Atog in there. For now I'm just focusing on getting artifacts into the graveyard quicker. Not enough artifact sac for that many wellsprings yet.

Welding Jar is a sac artifact. Might could fit it in.

Ak47, seen your deck and Slag fiend for the first time, it challenged me to make an Atog/Slag Fiend combo deck. See what you think:

So i went out and bought some cards today. I changed my deck around a bit. I got a couple of atogs, arcbound ravagers, a skullclamp, and a thopter assembly. This deck is a LOT more fun to play now. Thanks again to everyone for the advice.

Hey there, I like what you have done with slagfiend and the cheap artifacts. I did my own take on it a while ago and it's pretty fun to play.

http://www.mtgvault.com/lobstermobster/decks/bubble-bauble/

I splashed black and it seems to work well enough. Also the old free baubles work great for getting themselves in the graveyard and also for the draw you get off them next turn. Plus it can lead to a 6/6 Slagfiend on turn one which is pretty cool (with a perfect hand of 4 - 5 baubles, 1 - 2 lotus petals, and a slagfiend)

(edit) I am sorry for the reposts, my computer was acting up
