Laquatus's Champ Cheat

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Buried Alive + Entomb Laquatus's Champion into the graveyard. Then use Recurring Nightmare, Living End, or Balthor the Defiled to get it back into play to make an opponent lose 24 life. Easy win.

I know the deck could be better. Any suggestions are appreciated. Festering Goblin is kind of just a cheap filler creature for Recurring Nightmare, haven't thought of anything better to put in its place.

Deck discussion for Laquatus's Champ Cheat

Hi Alchamire,

I've always enjoyed building and playing reanimator decks. While I sort specialize in building mostly Legacy decks occasionally I'll build a proxy type I deck. (I mean who in their right mind would wander around carrying a deck worth thousands of dollars?). So looking at your deck as type 1 "legal" proxy deck here is what your deck might look like after I proxied it.

Artifacts
1x Black Lotus
1x Mox Jet
1x Lotus Petal
1x Sol Ring

Creatures
2x Balthor the Defiled
4x Laquatus's Champion

Enchantments
1x Necropotence
1x Yawgmoth's Bargain

Land
4x Bazaar of Baghdad
4x Cabal Coffers
2x Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
8x Swamp

Spells
2x Living End
1x Vampiric Tutor
4x Entomb
1x Yawgmoth's Will
4x Extirpate
4x Thoughtseize
2x Reanimate
2x Living Death
4x Dark Ritual
1x Demonic Tutor
4x Buried Alive
1x Damnation

The main things I am trying to do are:
1. Improve your mana base. (added Black Lotus, Sol Ring, Lotus Petal)
2. Provide a means to disrupt early counterspells (Added thoughtseize, extirpate)
3. Increase your chances for card draw, tutoring, and putting cards in graveyard. (added Vampiric Tutor, Yawgmoth's Bargain, Bazaar of Bhagdad, and increasing number of Entombs.

Most of these improvement were done at the cost of removing alot of your fairly high cost creature removal spells. The idea being that this deck will hopefully now be able to get out your game winning combo earlier backed by hand and library disruption. If you get into trouble early tutoring for your reset buttons (Damnation, Living Death, Living End) may save the day. Don't really know if it will work as planned but try poxying it and see if its an improvement.

Thanks for the feedback man. This is actually a deck that I have made. I didn't throw the Black Lotus in because I have one set of power nine that I tend to bounce in between all my decks. I hate using it in all of them because it makes all my decks feel so stale and similar >_<. lol.

Good call on the Living Death by the way, I definitely like that more than Living End. I also like the Extirpates, they are a great pre emptive strike against counter heavy decks.

And to answer your question of:
"who in their right mind would wander around carrying a deck worth thousands of dollars?"

Someone with a concealed carry license... lol. Also I don't just "wander around" lol. This stuff stays at home unless I am taking it to a store to play that night. Also, high dollar cards only come with me when I am accompanied with friends/realatives. I also drive to where I am playing that night, not taking public transportation.

Anyways, thanks again for the feedback man. I am going to rework this deck a little in the next day or two and see what I can pull off. :)
