This version of Rafiq in EDH trades speed and agro with control and insurance, that way the board is at a state that you want it, when you're ready to take that one swing win. This deck has a 1 card sideboard. Hydra Omnivore is in the mainboard since most EDH games I play are multiplayer, but when i do go one on one, or 2 headed Might of Oaks take's the place of the Hydra since multi-killing isn't as useful, and the instant ninja knock out with commander damage from might of Oaks is much more effective. (3/3 "Rafiq base stats" +1/+1 "exalted" +7/ +7 "might of oaks" + double strike "Rafiq" = 22 Commander Damage. WIN!) ====================================================================================== General strategy: Be patient and survive until you fish out a win condition (Finest hour, Sovereigns of Lost Alara, Eldrazi Conscription, and Hydra Omnivore).Though this deck is a little slow on the start, it excels and becomes a dominant force late game. It is recommended that you play like a blue control player would, and do your best to convince your opponents into not playing against you, even if you do have an answer to the problem, it's always best to keep it for a later time if possible. Playing your politics and control spells correctly is essential since most of the time you won't have much of a board. lightning greaves, time warp, and Temporal Mastery will suprise and insure you victories when your ready to play your game ending cards. Look for regowth, snapcaster mage, eternal witness, Praetor's Counsel, and twincast to take even more turns at a time! Since this deck is so spell dependent, I designed it so it will cycle itself with relative ease. Time spiral, ulamog, and Praetor's Counsel will help you recycle already used resources.
