This is my improved deck from the pre-release which only focuses on the kicker effect. Basically, try to play either the Goblin or Hallar before kicking things up (pun intended).The end-game can be anything from Fight with Fire or even Grunn.

Kicker is a powerful, yet mana hungry effect. As such, I think 4x Llanowar Elves and 4x Elfhame Druid is a must. You want than mana asap. With only 3 goblins in the deck, Goblin Barrage isn't looking that good. You also don't want to sacrifice Powerstone Shard as it's one of your big mana acceleration cards. Some combination of Shock, Abrade, Lightning Strike, and Magma Spray (with others in sideboard for more match specific cases) would be better in this slot. Being cheaper to cast also helps keep the opponent low on creatures while you're ramping.

I built the deck during the pre-release and was unlucky to get any Llanowar Elves :(Of course you're right for a more competitive aspect certain cards need to be removed like the Goblin Barrrage and possibly even the goblins.
