Deck Description

Hi guys, hope you like this deck... I've slightly boosted the green mana in this one to increase the odds of dropping creatures (elvish mystic, experiment one & Sylvan Cryatid) in the first couple of turns...

Originally I had Cancel in the main deck, but the guys at the bottom of the page soon reminded me of Dissolve which replaced it.

Please let me know if you have an thoughts...... :)

Deck discussion for Mid-Range BANT(er)

Id say replace cancel with dissolve. Dissolve does the exact same thing but lets you scry. Great deck though. +1 from me.

Does anyone have on thoughts on using Plasm Capture instead of dissolve/cancel?

I think Plasm Capture is definitely good in this deck. Cards like Archangel, Prophet, and Elspeth need it to allow early play for those cards. I don't know about removing Dissolve or Cancel for them permanently, but sideboard is never a bad idea. :)

I agree with this. Plasma capture is s great idea. Say no to a fatty like stormbreath dragon. Next turn cast archangel of thune without tapping land. However it is very mana intensive so I would say 1-2 of them in the sideboard so that when you go up against gruul monsters or rakdos midrange or something like that, your counterspell nets you an advantage. If you absolutely need one in the main deck, I would take out one prophet. Trust me, topdecking a prophet when there is one on the field sucks.

Thanks guys, really appreciate your help... I've had a wee play about with it and a couple of fellow magicians have suggested popping in Sphinx's Revelation (to work together with the prophet) & the Courser of Kruphix (to work with Archangel of Thune).... In order to do this I have had to drop the following:

4x Brimaz, King of Orezkos
1x Prophet of Kruphix
1x Dissolve

I have also switched a Detention Sphere for an Elvish mystic to improve mana ramp.... Not sure if this is the best way to do it but will give it go....!!

If you folks have any comments I would be extremely grateful! :)

with the amount of ramp you are doing surely by adding another sphinx rev could help. in my opinion, -1 exp. one, +1 shphinxy.
