Deck Description

A very simple monoblack deck very similar to the one I usually play against my friends. Using this deck is a good way to learn to play MTG, and it often wins against normal decks; although obviously it can have issues against specific builds.

How to Play

Good old mono-black card advantage deck. Push for hand destruction, two-for-ones and card drawing as early as you can. Don't worry to much about hurting your own life points as long as you keep bringing the opponent down with yourself. Life-gain, removal will keep you out of the red zone. Don't push too many creatures onto the field at once, since you will be using those Damnations and Crypt Rats whenever there is card advantage to be gained. If you can, keep a Consume Spirit in hand to finish off the opponent, but don't be afraid to spend them to remove an early blocker.

Deck discussion for Blood Spill

wouldn't mutilate be better than damnation in this deck?

Mhm, depends; I guess it would be kinda situational. While mutilate would get rid of some pesky indestructible creatures, in practice I've found myself in games where I have 3 swamps and 1 Cabal Coffers in play and a -3/-3 won't do. But I guess they would be a good sideboard.
