Thanks man, I really wanted to make a good Chandra themed deck, preferably for star games.

Also reading the flavor text when you throw burns at people definitely makes it more fun.

Actually I told him about the website, then he took it to the next step and started printing proxies.

I had recommended green to him since it fit his play-style and he liked control so i guess this was an inevitable thing. He didn't know that it was such old cards though. I was like well shit I guess I need to proxy a dragon-storm deck to compete with that.

You know get pissed threaten with dragons. lots of them.

lol. We typically play emperor and two-headed style games, and my friend that just started brought this thing to the table and i practically flipped it. I thought well let me put more lands and more weenies in and ill be fine. Then a 4 drop 6/6 trample with destroy land hit the playing field annnnnd I left the room.

and then wrote my first comment.

I guess we are just misunderstanding each other. I personally think that vintage and legacy decks are "of a different age." They are no longer being made and many of the cards are ridiculously powerful. I personally don't know of any modern cards that can be played for 1 green and 3 others and be a 6/6 trampler, much less destroy a land. Its just a different age, almost a different game. The current sets are so weak compared to them.

My biggest qualm was that this is a deck to be played to have fun. Assuming between friends. However if you were my friend playing that deck I would respectfully decline. When you are with friends, it is about having a good time, and I don't see anyone having a good time but you. You may lose friends.

Your deck idea works brilliantly no doubts about it. Personally I would just use a dragon-storm deck against it. Or use a friends invincibility deck.

... if you are playing casual, why buy cards? just print them out. a printer cartridge is cheaper than a 30 dollar budget deck.

My friend who just started playing decided to proxy this deck. Anyways I have to say this is a terrible deck. If your playing this deck to "have fun" with friends in casual games it fails. You may have fun, but with how weak modern magic cards are your friend is going to just be sitting there with his thumb up his ass.

I think that this deck is a really bad deck mostly because, like Ninja was saying, it would be terrible against another legacy deck. If your wanting to have fun with a cheap deck check out the budget series, it is modern legality and up and cheaper than this.

New players, if your trying to enjoy a game with friends, make sure to play modern legality at the very least. Vintage and Legacy opens the gate for ridiculous combos that legacy decks are capable of, like killing you before you start your first turn...
