Deck Description

I got into this game right before Worldwake dropped, and with only a couple months until the Zendikar block rotates, I think a fitting tribute is in order.

Zektar Shrine Expedition is pretty much my favorite card in the set. This bastard has managed to work its way into every fucking deck I've ever made, and I'm not complaining. It's a game-winner in the best case, and a free, out-of-nowhere blocker in the very worst.

I am going to miss the hell out of enemy-colored fetches. How the hell am I supposed to run horribly impractical combos now, post-September Standard environment?!

I scored a playset of Comet Storms by losing my very first Worldwake draft (that's right, we drafted STRAIGHT Worldwake), and it's taken me a year to fully appreciate it. Instant-speed, non-divisible Fireball is something sexy.

Rage Nimbus is the best thing ever. Forcing attacks to either pick off creatures with something like a Basilisk Collar or a Viridian Claw (hell, even it's own power of 5 can hack it), or even better, forcing a Condemn is my favorite thing.

I'm going to miss the HELL out of Wall of Omens.

Man. Even with all the terrible things this sets done for the game (Allies, I'm lookin' at you), this metagame's been instrumental in me picking up the skills, the understanding, and the blatant disregard for convention and reason that has made me the player I am right now. And playing against the same RUG, Valakut, and Caw Blade decks over and over again has done wonders for allowing me to think outside the box, then smash it to splinters.

So here's to Jace. To Stoneforge. To fetches. To Colonnades. To those muthafuckin' Eldrazis. To everything we've grown to hate and simultaneously admitted to loving just a little bit.

See ya on the other side, Zendikar.

(Feel free to hook me up with your own "Later, Zendy" decks, too. And I promise I won't be the prick I usually am, lawl.)

Yep. Being a broke-ass bastard necessitates I move on to wider formats. Standard = Paper. :\

Landfall and living lands were one of my favorite parts of the Zendikar block. Here is my farewell Zendikar deck.
