This deck started as a clone of Modern Spirits Aggro by person3166. If you haven't seen it you should check it out!http://www.mtgvault.com/person3166/decks/modern-spirits-aggro/I love trying to make budget versions of different deck ideas. The original deck was estimated to cost about $400 and I wanted to see how low I could make it and still maintain the feel/function of the original deck.This budget version I think keeps the feel of the original pretty well and comes in at just about $30. That's just about an 94% price drop. Which is pretty good!
The sideboard is whats been removed/replaced. Most of the swaps were pretty simple:- 4 Mausolium Wanderer, 4 Geist of St. Taft, and 2 Rattlechains.+ 4 Spectral Sailor and 4 Topplegeist. ---Not a perfect swap: definitely lose some heavy hitting and control, but they just weren't in the budget and both being 1 CMC helps with speed (especially since we lose some in the lands). - 4 Serum Visions, 4 Cryptic Command, and 4 Path of Exile.+ 2 Opt, 3 Winged Words, and 3 Immolating Glare.--- Again, not perfect swaps, but keeping the instant speed, card draw, and control as a high priority for the support.- 2 Cavern of Souls, 4 Glacial Fortress, 4 Seachrome Coast, and 4 Hallowed Fountain.+ 2 Irrigated Farmland, 4 Sejiri Refuge, and 4 Tranquil Cove.---Obviously a bit slower now, but the life gain is welcome and the cycling is good.Also added in the Rally of Wings because it's a great price and a great card (in this context) so, why not? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------HOW TO PLAY:Its pretty simple. You have 16 cards with Anthem affects which will boost all your creatures. So get out your flyers out then buff and protect as able. All the while keeping card advantage up while controlling any big threats.Win by speed and numbers or finish with a surprise Rally.
