Why I'm not Invited to Parties

by Bellairs on 24 September 2011

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

I proxy cards, and I hate it when people automatically assume I'm using broken cards.

I used to make fun decks that prolonged the game rather than hurry it, but if everyone wants to brand me an abuser of cards, so be it.

The people I play with don't care, they're all such hypocrites >.>
But yeah, I know they've been restricted, I'm doing this deliberately.
Thank you for your concern though :)

I hear you, I use proxies as well. I make decks from scratch and they end up being good (see my "fun? This game isnt fun" deck ). I proxy them out and slowly buy the cards. I have little funds to use, and no job. I hate that magic has become "whomever has the money, has the best cards, has the best decks".
To me, magic is about fun, about strategy, about skill, and about luck. Yes, proxies remove a bit of luck factor because you "arent pulling them". So does the singles market. When you make a deck, do you buy boosters till you get everything you need? No. you buy singles. Proxies allow people to make their dream decks, without having the cash. My decks average around $200+. I have no job, and scrape by on oddjobs.Luckily winter is comming and I plow snow for cash. I make a new deck every two days, I proxy them out. Some I dont like the style of and tear up, others I love and slowly yet steadily build up the deck list.

Proxies allow players to be able to play competitively. It encourages logical thought, fair play, and good sportsmanship. Does magic teach this normally? Yes. But "pro decks" encourange this even more because the level of play is so drastically increased.

So dont rag on proxies, they help.
