It goes against the theme...but have you considered Orcish Lumberjack? Or the green or red Spirit Guides?Simian Spirit Guide or Elvish Spirit Guide. Something like Turn 1. Play Mountain. Play Lumberjack. Play Elvish Spirit Guide and then play Llanowar Elves. Turn 2. Play a Forest. Tap your Forest and Mountain for 2 mana. Sack a forest to Lumberjack for 3 more mana. Tap Elves for 1 more mana.Turn 2 you have 6 mana.

Seems like you need a particular hand for this to work. I do like the spirit guides though. If only the green one wasn't $5 a piece.
Yes, very true catch. It is all or nothing...and the above example left you with only 4 cards in your hand. And if you actually play something with the 6 mana...you might have only 1 or 2 cards in your hand left on the end of Turn 2.
