Deck Description

Cast a bunch of creatures fast, discard cards to buff them, play the discarded cards using their madness cost all while controlling the board.

How to Play

Its pretty straight forward. Wild mongrel is cheap and can get pretty big by discarding cards, which you just play for their madness cost. The roar of the warm is meant to be discarded to your graveyard, so you can cast a 3g 6/6. Same with wonder, so your creatures can fly. The waterfront bouncer, counter spells, and naturalize help control the board. Then obviously the other cards allow you to draw/discard/madness. All in all a pretty solid deck thats fun. Looking to tweak it a bit, its an old deck I have used, and I would like to upgrade with better cards if possible.

Deck discussion for Controlled Madness

seems like you could side board in the naturalize, but not sure what to put in its place.

Put in 2 more careful studys instead of the naturalizes

What about a mana leak instead of a force of will? What card would you discard for it? They all seem to fill a role.

Force of will is played as an Oh Crap! card. You use it to counter things that can be deadly to you, should they hit the field. If it's not dangerous enough to justify losing a card, they you don't counter it.

I'm a huge fan of U/G Madness, some years ago when i quit playing Magic, was the only deck i kept :) and i'm still playing it with friends, with good results!
I would play 4 acquamoeba, it has nice toughess, and is also solid as attacker!
I play Careful study, for 1B your draw 2 cards and discard 2 cards, this often means on turn 1 rootwalla on BF and something good in the GY (wonder, roar, deep analysis).
Also i play a big reset button, upheaval, and your opponent will be like :O!
here's my deck http://www.mtgvault.com/chevanton19/decks/ug-madness/

Yes same here. I quit playing magic when this deck was popular. Imagine my happiness when I found that in a few years FOW went up to like $75 bucks a pop! Im in the process of upgrading all my old decks and this one is up.

Also, I like the idea of a big reset button, but upheaval is a bit expensive. Especial since this deck has no way to generate more mana. I liked the idea though and to me, wash out seems a much better fit. It doesn't hurt you and its much cheaper. Yes its only one color but I think it would be more effective.

Devastation tide, can be another good alternative i think :)
i use upheaval because it's in the original U/G madness decklist!
I also play Coiling Oracle to speed up a bit mana generation and card advantage!

Ya I definitely think if you could cast the upheaval, it would probably be game over. ;) Yes, devastation tide would be a good choice as well! Thanks again for the input.

Since you are playing Legacy why not add some Anvil of Bogardan.
That why you will get an extra draw each turn and discard something with madness and/or flashback.
-3 Force of Will (also this will make your deck very budget friendly)
+3 Anvil of Bogardan (lets you draw cards each turn and a permanent discard engine also)
-2 Aquamoeba (we have anvil now maybe we can but some self discard)
+ 2 Call of the Herd (for just casting is good and discarding it then flashback it is also good)
-2 Waterfront Bouncer (seems like having more than 1 is not needed and also we now have anvil for discard )
+2 Bearscape (For further using cards even after they are used)

Thanks for the advice. The anvil seems like it would fit my deck, but I hate helping the opponent by giving them an extra card, I mean yes they have to discard. You think it's worth it?

Running out of gas and top decking is not good in any deck. For example after a Wrath of God or Mutilate it will take too much time for you to recover if you are top decking. Yes opponent also gets 1 extra draw and 1 discard. But now every deck has Madness and flashback mechanics like your deck does. Well in the end it comes to your personal decision.
