I've always been a big fan of Pestilence, and Withering Wisps from Ice Age. By Urza Block this deck was possible although it needed discard and luck to make it to turn 5, especially against Academy decks.This is a build I used up until around Mirrodin.
Cycle and Tutor for 3-5 turns until you have Wisps or Pestilence and an Idol or Disciple to keep them around once you start clearing the board, and with 5 or more swamps that's usually enough to do it. It's worth 2 Rituals to get an Armor out early.Wisps and Pestilence were hardly used so this often caught opponents off guard. Since it was kinda slow it lost quickly to some combos and to the many W and U/W pro-black "Solution" variants that were popular in my town for years after its first big Pro Tour win during Invasion block (hence the Thran Lenses).
