Deck Description

I love aggro decks, so this seems like a really good deck to build.

Deck discussion for Zoology

Instead of path to exile, try swords to plowshares. It's a little stronger of a card and will help with keeping your opponent from getting a turn up on you. Also, have you thought about trying loam lion? He's the same as a kird ape, but in white.

Good thought, but Swords gives the opponent life. This deck is all about killing as fast as possible, so helping them stay alive is kind of a bad idea. As for Loam Lion, I want the deck to stay focused on green and red so the mana base doesn't go bad.

Path to exile is a tricky one. Depending on the creature, it could be really bad to give them a free land instead of life. Swords is wonderful against little guys, like goblins or Mother of Runes and the like. Also, I would be surprised if you had any mana problems by adding Loam Lions. Personally, I would cut down on the Qasali Pridemage and run only one or two main, then one or two side. I would also cut the Watchwolf and Ram-Gang for Tarmogoyfs; Watchwolf isn't always a reliable two-drop due to the mana colours, and Ram-Gang just isn't as good as Goyf.

You bring up some good points, so let me try to cover everything. All the burn helps with small problem creatures if they need to be killed, but at the cost of not helping the aggro game by burning the opponent directly. Any creature that is out of burn range will generally have a pretty high power as well, so Swords becomes more costly to the game plan, where PtE's drawback seems less relevant. I will test both to find out, 3/1 split for now.

I think 2 Pridemages with the third in the side is what I want, my meta runs a lot of Jitte. Ram-Gang and Watchwolf are just place holders because I don't have Goyfs. But, since this is to refine decks to the best they can be, why not.

Maybe I'll add a couple Pyrokinesis to the sideboard to deal with those early game creatures, what do you think?

-1 Ram-Gang
-2 Watchwolf
-1 Path to Exile
-1 Pridemage

+1 Swords
+3 Goyf
+1 Loam Lion

True, I wasn't thinking about your burn spells for small guys. Throw together a decent sideboard and you'll probably do pretty well. It's an interesting zoo build; I did pretty well with one similar a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't have any knights or lavamancers. Good luck with it!
