Deck Description

My current "Stox" deck - untested as of yet, but I´m off to the Dragon´s Lair in the not-so-distant future. I hope it fares well and as intended. My inspiration came from 'surewhynot' and his "Wave of Mutilation"
*Salute !

Deck discussion for Extrox

This is much different than your previous build. 25 land seems like allot, but you are running 3 pox effects and 4 of the land dont produce mana, so maybe it works. is ice flow really better than the third maze? maze seems much more solid, being able to target creatures with flying, not taking the initial hit and allowing for tricks with crusader out of the sideboard. nodes is a really cool card, but i'm not sure how good it is in a deck featuring only 2 or less power creatures, even if 3 of them are bloodghast. other than that i'm not really sure what to say, i haven't seen a build quite like this before.

Hi again, Brian. Sadly, I haven´t tested this yet, but a 3rd Maze sounds... Intriguing ! There is, however, as small combo using the Floe and Winter Orb. So it has some use, but I can perfectly understand why you would think that.

The Nodes are in the SB strictly as an experiment, they may be swapped for something else. Well spotted, btw =)

Yes, there´s a ton of land here, but they all share, and contribute, to the greater goal of the deck; mainly being a major pain in the opp´s a**, hehe

I´ve just added a 2nd Deserted Temple, before testing it. It works wonders with the Maze, but also a few other tricks.

woops, missed the synergy with winter orb. i knew there was something i wasn't seeing. and here's a question that's also probably the product of an oversight: is there a reason you're running forbidden orchard over a verdant catacombs or some other fetch? though there are ways to negate the creatures with pox-rounding-math and stuff, it seems like paying the one life and searching for a scrubland would be much better than giving them blockers/attackers/staxfood. i'm probably missing something -- please enlighten me.

Hello, Brian and thanks for the comment =)

The Orchard is actually a part of a small combo (one I haven´t seen before, but I don´t dare take credit as of yet) with The Tabernacle along side the Blood Artist, and Winter Orb/Rishadan Port; either opponent it forced to pay 1CMC for the Spirit Token and will be all tapped out, or he/she will lose 1 life due to Blood Artist and Rishadan Port. Deserted temple can help by producing more tokens = more mana denail for the opp´s (however I will probably just add another Orchard to the mix, heh)

The reason I haven´t added two more fetches is because the ps I own of Verdant Catacombs is currentliy being used in my Elves deck, haha, and I just ain´t got enough dough for more =)

I´ve ordered a ps of Thespian Stage for a little more control, but I´m not sure all of them will be added.

This is...Very strange. It looks very much like a meld between Elmer Pox and Iso-Pox, yet it's missing some key elements of both. Weirder still is there seems to be nothing wrong with that. The deck, as I see it, will run like a charm.

I'm not quite sure what to think about this deck yet.

I would like to be able to state that it´s aaaall good, but it hasn´t seen any real play yet, so I can´t. I promise I´ll update the following week, IF the blizzard - currently approaching Denmark - hopefully will fizzle, so my car won´t be buried under tons of snow and ice. T´is the season I guess...
So let me, humbly, reply to your compliment;

Thanks, surewhynot. You and your work are to be credited for this. I merely tweaked it a bit =)

The Blizzard hit like a mother... First time I could get to my shop was Friday the 31 of January ! We got 40 cm. of snow the first day, then 5 cm. more the following couple of days, plus ice and blowing snow. The 'stage' of the world seemed very Dante-ish.

Have you pondered further on the deck? I´m quite curious as to what you think about it. Oh yeah, btw, it is still untested. At the FNM, zero Legacy players showed up, so . . .

I´ve added two more Forbidden Orchard´s to put pressure on the opponent. Also there will be more Expedition Map´s in this, because it´s mainly the lands that cause trouble. I just need to find a way to do this =)

I'll be honest, I don't really like the land count you have...I think you have a bit too many lands. I also think that if you cut down the land count a bit, you won't need Map. I say cut down to 25-24 lands and lose the Maps, then use the freed up space to smooth some things out. In my opinion you could use the space saved to fix up the spell suite you run. Specifically your Pox package, which I think should run a 4/2 split.

Do those changes and personally I think it will run like a dream.
