How to Play

..with sunglasses

the above is because either you can, or simply can´t, play this deck. It´s not meant to sound douche, but there just are so many combo and strategies it can become difficult to choose from which to go on.
It is designed so that your first hand is playable in one form or the other. Although I´ve played this for some time, I´m still discovering new combo´s.

One of the more dirty; Baneslayer and/or Crusader and Maze of Ith. Attack, then untap to save your creatures. First Strike and Double Strike still goes through. Or you could do the same with Reconnaissance

M:tG rules quote

702.7b If at least one attacking or blocking creature has first strike or double strike (see rule 702.4) as the combat damage step begins, the only creatures that assign combat damage in that step are those with first strike or double strike. After that step, instead of proceeding to the end of combat step, the phase gets a second combat damage step. The only creatures that assign combat damage in that step are the remaining attackers and blockers that had neither first strike nor double strike as the first combat damage step began, as well as the remaining attackers and blockers that currently have double strike. After that step, the phase proceeds to the end of combat step.

Evil, is it not?

Were it me building this, I'd opt for two Sorins in place of the BS and Crusader...but that might come down more to preference.

Thanks for the comment, sure =) I´ve actually just now put a ps of the Lord of Innistrand on my wishlist for the new year. Although I´ve never used a Planeswalker before, he is the prime choice for this.
But what do you think of the First and Double Strike Shenanigans with Maze? I thought of adding a single Reconnaissance to the mix also

It shocks and amazes me that I never thought of adding Maze of Ith to Stox. It would have saved so many matches I can only laugh at myself. The price of my time with Pox appears to be that the simplest solution to Maverick for Stox would forever allude me.

Another addition could be a couple of 'Ice Floe' if you don´t mind the damage, before your turn Tutor Meekstone and abrahcadabrah sucker... you're mine now!

Sorry... a wee bit overkill, but a fun combo none-the-less =)

Did you guys have a good New Year?

That is a good little combo, and I may have to copy it from you. :D

It may be overkill, but that does sound incredibly fun. I'm thinking that for now when I play Stox, I'll have two Mazes, and a copy of Ice Floe in the SB.

We had a pretty good New Year, thank you, how about you?

Copy anything you like, my friend =)

Our New Year was quite quiet. The missus and I had only one guest, my father-in-law, and it was humorous, heh. My wife made her special pork-loin Mette-style (that's her name, Mette) which consist of a pre-cooked bacon cubes mixed with ham-cheese, which are put inside the pork loin then surrounded by bacon strips and in the oven for a good while. It's like drinking a song, oh yeeeah.
And a bonus; since we don´t drink alcohol we can remember almost everything, haha. When 2014 came bull-rushin' we went outside and fired a couple of rockets, then back in-side.

Good thing our animals aren´t afraid of the blasts outside, that would have been sad if they were.

So, all-in-all; a nice and cosy eve

I made a Human tribal around abusing the ideas this gave me, and I have to say it's the most fun I've had playing a tribe yet. I can't thank you enough for that!

That sounds quite a nice night, glad you enjoyed it. Also, that sounds absolutely delicious, and I'm jealous of you for it.
I've honestly never met a forgetful drinker, but things to get uncomfortably affectionate when my friends start drinking, or at least in my opinion... I love those that I would drink with as family, but when they want to hug me while they smell of vomit? http://i.imgur.com/w1w2yOr.gif

If they're indoor animals they'll usually just be curious, but outdoor pets just get annoyed usually.

You´re most welcome, Jens =) Although is wasn´t my idea originally, so I can´t take credit for it, but it does give a damn good feeling inside, knowing you´ve helped someone =D
Haha, good 'my-face-when'.
I´m a mini fan of Supernatural, but nothing compared to y wife - every year (or so) she wishes for the new season of the series and can be quite annoyed when they´re holiday'in, haha.
I don´t drink, and there´s a good reason for that; I tend to get mean... Nobody likes it including me, so I gave it up. Been 'on the wagon' for 5 years and counting =)
definitely checking out your shenanigan tribal, rock on, man

It might not be your idea originally, but you're how I found it. Now where does that sound familiar from? :P And it does feel quite nice when you've helped somebody.
I have saved only the links to those related to Supernatural, and Zoidberg. Why? I have no idea... They just amuse me.
I'm right there with your wife then, I'm super excited/angry about what the next episode might hold... That show has been one of my favorites since it came out, and even though it had rough spots *cough*series seven*cough* it's been one of the most consistently enjoyable shows.
I can entirely understand, I don't drink often myself, and when I do I keep it to a minimal amount. Good job on being on the wagon for as long as you have, it's quite an accomplishment!

Haha, I´ve leveled up ! Yay !

Supernatural is a great way of getting a lot of jump scares, but yes, they were slowly becoming a parody of themselves, that´s when I stopped watching, however my wife is a Die Hard fan and remained true to them. She has pitched the series to me, more than I can count - "It´s gotten much better, promise!"

Thank you =) Now I don´t mind when others drink, it´s quite fun to see, and the stories that some of those tell, heh, lol. Not that I use it against them, I just enjoy it ^_^
Well, being on the wagon, for me, is not hard, as I become a mean drunk when I´m U. I. so keeping that in mind is a great way to stay sober

*queue Fallout 3 level up sound*

There's even an episode where they parody themselves as a show, and somehow it's one of the best things to ever happen. But nowhere near as good as the fact that the episode had "Doctor Sexy"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7aIOxgq7E8

Oh man the stories can be so great, and of course you wouldn't use them, but the laughs they can give!
And if only others did so the same... All too often I've seen people not care that they turn into hideously monstrous versions of themselves when they drink.

ok, trying to regain my feel for these lists after taking so much time off, could you remind me what entomb is for again? just bloodghast? but then why is it in ghast-less builds? WAIT, i am now seeing synergy with therapy and crime..... is it instead of 3rd therapy/2nd crime, to fetch whichever is best in current situation?
another display of general rusty-ness: you are running more surgicals/extirpates than most builds. how is that working out? is the 4 extirpate 2 surgical split due to a counter heavy meta, or is it just preference? they are also the only ways to see your opponents hand -- doesn't this lower the effectiveness of therapy, or is therapy solid despite said handicap?
other than my confusion and ignorance demonstrated above, looks great. i'd never seen ice flow before, not only is it awesome, but budget! the mainboard abolishers look mean, and i like the stability wayfarer provides. sweet deck man.

Hey, dude. First I wan´t to say thank you for your kind words =) I´m glad you like it. Can´t take credit for the idea of Stox, only the process of tweaking it.
I am very sorry for the answer overdue, there´s been a lot to see to these past days.
This was initially a rough sketch for a better version, which I have been toying around with =)

http://www.mtgvault.com/blckfirphoenx/decks/extrox-2/

There are a lot of combo´s in this, beyond the obvious; Extraction, Pox and Stax, and the link above will take you to a slightly more fine tuned deck. Although it´s no-where near finished, since I´m struggling to find a spot for 1 or two Mirran Crusader's

And welcome back to Magic ! =D

i checked out your new list and left a comment there, it's much different than this one but looks good in it's own way.

Thanks again, Brian =) I´m glad that the 'bug' bit you once more. Personally, there was a time where nothing existed in my head, but M:tG so I went off-grid and sold a bunch of my cards, to gain, somewhat, of the money 'lost' in cardboard, heh. But somehow my wife gave the okay to return, and now it´s thankfully not as dominant as it used to be. Fun to play =)
