Deck Description

A continuous spam of 10 or more damage each turn from very early on. Ignore all your opponents' attacks and show them you can hit much, MUCH harder.

How to Play

With this deck we throw defense completely out the window. First step is to mulligan who cares how many times to get a Flamekin Harbinger. Turn one, play Flamekin Harbinger and use its ability to put a nova chaser on top of your library. PROTECT THE HARBINGER! Don't let it die. It is the weak link in this deck. Next turn try to play either a bright hearth banneret, a smokebraider, or obsidian battle axe on turn three. Any one of these cards means that turn four starts an onslaught of 10+/2 trample each turn. Turn three (four if you only drew the battle axe) play nova chaser and champion the harbinger, removing it from the game. And tada! Each time nova dies, in comes the harbinger and in comes another nova chaser to the top of your deck.

This decks power is amazing, but it is the very definition of a glass cannon. Before playing, try seeing what must be done with the banneret, smoke braider, and battle axe in order to start attacking on turn four. When I win with this deck, almost always do, it's usually with only three mana. The burn spells are for two things. Making an opening, and first strike. First strike creatures generally have a very small toughness. Just about any one mana burn will do. The side board is for counterspell decks. They usually don't pose too much of a threat as the most expensive thing in this deck costs only 4 (2 with brighthearthbanneret) you can spam more spells than they can counter, use cryoclasm to destroy their lands and do damage at the same time. Embergale to nix out each and every 1/1 creature they were able to squeeze into play. It may take more than turn five, but they'll still lose.

Just a suggestion but, maybe a couple of Rage Nimbus' on sideboard for defense? That being said, this deck is magnificent!

Tried having defence before. Didn't turn out so well. But against a control deck, I think you're right. I'll play test that this weekend against one of my friend's blue controls. I'm thinking it'll be an excellent side board.

Ball lightning and vengeful fire brand are big haste creatures. Once you've played all four novas, your oppenent is probably below 10 life. If not, maybe you should concede. You did something wrong. Try for two out of three. But if they are, then we need a quick finish. Boom, ball lightning or vengeful firebrand which will have haste since there are four warriors in your graveyard.

What's your thoughts on "Incandescent Soulstoke?" Would it fit this gem? Also "Brute Force" can protect the Harbinger a wee bit, but I don't know what to replace :-/

If you can find the time please take a look a my newest deck; http://www.mtgvault.com/blckfirphoenx/decks/something-sinister/ and tell me what you think =)

A long time ago I used it, but the truth is that when I can drop three mana, it's time to destroy. These games this deck plays are short. If it doesn't speed the deck up, it slows it down. Maybe as a side bar to play elementals and not have them be countered...... besides that I see no use for Incandescent Soulstroke.

what about rite of flame to drop smoke braid turn 1 and attack with ball turn two and still drop har if you had two mountains or another rite, dropping har turn 1 to summon nova turn 3 vs har turn 2 and nova 3? Gives more hope of keeping it alive IMO to start the offensive

Bann turn 1 as an alt as well , drop smoke and har turn 2 , axe and nova turn 3. gives alot more possibilities depending on how draw goes, as what to take out not too sure. I'd have to play test but I don't own any rite of flames , at least i don't think so :(
