Deck discussion for Another Legacy Caw-Blade?

If this is Legacy, shouldn't those Days be WoG's? Switch the Cancels with Counterspells? Preordain for Brainstorm? Right now, it looks like the only reason this deck isn't T2 legal is the fact that you're running the two banned cards. :) If you're going to go Legacy, might as well buff up your whole tool box.

The only cards that HAVE to be there for Caw-Blade are the Mystics, Squawks, and Swords. Oh, on that note, don't forget you have the original Mirrodin Swords you could play with, too. Both could be really powerful in this.

The WoG's and Counterspells are good, I can't believe we didn't realize that. But the Preordain can be better than the Brainstorm because it lets you also put cards at the bottom, of your library. If your drawing 3 straight spells, when you dont have any lands to play them, you can always put them on the bottom, get some lands then shuffle.

But thank you well appreciated input :)

Ok, I'll be blunt: This is really bad. I'm sorry, but calling this tournament quality shows you don't understand legacy.

Tectonic Edge: Meet Wasteland
Seachrome Coast: Meet Tundra
Counterspell: Meet Daze
Mana Leak: Meet Force of Will
Spell Pierce: Meet Mental Misstep
Sword of Body and Mind: This is the right choice actually. Nice guess
Sword of Feast and Famine: Arguably the worst sword in legacy. You should be playing Batterskull
Sylvok Lifestaff: Umm... Jitte anyone?
Squadron Hawks: Umm... seriously?
Jace 3.0: No way in hell. Elspeth
Gideon: you are aware this card costs 5 right? And is pretty weak?
JTMS: Play 4 or go away.
Tumble Magnet: Go away.
Preordain: Strictly worse than Ponder which is strictly worse than Brainstorm.
Other mana-base stuff: You need Mishra as your manland, and should play atleast 4 fetches, and they should be Flooded Strand.

Oh, and go find some Swords to Plowshares and Vendilion Cliques too. As Mercedes said, this is a T2 deck with a few banned cards. No way in hell it is in the same galaxy as legacy decks

Aha, well a very large deck change, I'll be sure to give the cards a look. But really, you cant say Squadron Hawks, Really? Because thats the Caw, in Caw-Blade. I mean a Caw deck is pretty much, JTMS, Squadrons, Stoneforge Mystics, a bunch of other planeswalkers and counters, and there you go, a Caw.

But I guess if you wanted to spend $600 on a deck then the suggestions seem legit lol.

Although, raggedjoe, I did give some of your decks a look previously, and really like them, keep up the good work, and hopefully you can still put in input into BoredomDecks. We really appreciate all criticism and hope you enjoy all our decks we will be posting.

We plan to post a deck about twice a week, so the next one will be here about Friday-Saturday time :)

Something tells me you're a standard player, lol. Legacy caw blade gets the "caw" from it's thopter foundries.
Stoneforge will either search up batterskull, sword of the meek, or jitte. Why sword of the meek? well, let me introduce you to the lovely legacy realm of combo :D
Thopter foundry lets you sac an artifact, pay 1 colorless mana, and get a 1/1 thopter. but whats this? sword of the meek lets you re-attach it to a creature whenever they enter the battlefield! i guess ill just sac sword of the meek, get a thopter, attach sword from the grave to my little 1/1, then repeat said process til you have no mana left. that's hefty, huh?

And older counterspells really can't be replaced with new ones. Holding mana up is for suckers. hence daze, mental mistep, and fow. why would I want to hold up 2 mana when i can get 2 thopters? i dont. all the counterspells in caw are USUALLY "free" ones.

also, the beauty of legacy is fetches are actually mana fixers (i mean they always were but never to this extent.) oh, whats this? a marsh flats? but i need blue mana next turn and white mana for my swords to plowshares? :( : ( :( ohhhhyeah i can marsh flats up a tundra and have both. thats the beauty of them!

but besides that, raggedjoe has actually said everything i would have. believe me, ragged knows his legacy. i'd consider his advice more than input.

Haha, that is true, I have a lot more intrests/knowledge about standard, so maybe turning to legacy being the first deck posted by Boredom, might not have been a good choice. I just wanted people getting to know the account, as I want to be posting decks every once in a while, and having people throw their 2 cents in. I love when people offer suggestions, and I appreciate your help.

Just I hope you keep checking out BoredomDecks and maybe with the next deck posted I'll have more of a successful run.
