Deck Description

I really wanted to make a competitive deck around Varolz, the Scar-Striped.

How to Play

Varolz, the Scar-Striped isn't the only way to win in this deck but it is at the core. I like the option to play a Farseek or Tracker's Instincts off of a Burning-Tree Emissary. I also think that Slumbering Dragon is a great sleeper. (I had a Slumbering Dragon in play with 1 counter on it, my opponent didn't have any flying creatures. I was able to play Varolz, the Scar-Striped then scavange a Vexing Devil for 8 to the face!)

I like it. Not sure if I like the Emissary in this, since it won't play into a Lotlith or Jester. Also not sure what you need to Farseek to. The highest mana cost is 3.

Check out my Varolz themed deck I just made last night... it's more creature focused and has less utility than yours. http://www.mtgvault.com/runningsloth/decks/the-varolz-army/

With Farseek I can get Varolz, the Scar-Striped out sooner. I don't like to play him with just 3 lands. He's normally better if you can scavange as soon as he comes into play. I know Emissary can play Lotlith or Jester, but it could help at least. (Make then cost one less)
